Universidad Tecnologica Indoamerica

Founded in 1998, Universidad Tecnologica Indoamérica is a private university in Ecuador with its main campus in Ambato and additional campuses in Quito and Latacunga. Its origins date back to 1985. The university opened its Quito extension in 2004 and has since expanded its academic provision and infrastructure across the country.

Universidad Indoamérica’s main campus is located in Ambato, the capital of Tungurahua Province in Ecuador’s central Andean valley. The university’s campuses incorporate a mixture of contemporary facilities and historic architecture, with the main Simón Bolívar campus being built around a colonial-style mansion. It has four further campuses, including a secondary Ambato Campus (Campus Manuela Sáenz), as well as the Eugenio Espejo campus in Quito, built to facilitate students in the capital region.

Academically, Universidad Tecnologica Indoamérica comprises over 20 undergraduate programmes, more than 30 postgraduate programmes, seven health specialities, and a technological school. It covers fields such as engineering, architecture and design, environmental sciences, education, health sciences, social sciences, law, and economics and business. 

Programmes are available through face-to-face, semi-presential, online and hybrid formats.

Universidad Tecnologica Indoamérica has a particular focus on social impact and educational innovation through specialised projects. Among its projects is the ‘Indo-Haptic Demo’, an assistive sensory technology designed to help deaf individuals perceive sound and communication through touch.
