Description

The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a highly motivated researcher to work within its foundation cluster, led by Professors Pierre Youssef, Keith Ross, and Saurabh Ray.

The position will contribute to CIDSAI’s efforts to design AI systems that advance scientific and mathematical discovery, combining machine learning, reasoning, and human-AI collaboration. Successful candidates will work in a dynamic research environment at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence, and mathematics, alongside faculty and researchers across disciplines.

The successful candidate will contribute to one or more of the following components:


	Reinforcement Learning for Reasoning
	Formal Verification and Lean Automation
	AI-Assisted Collaboration and Problem Formulation


Preference will be given to candidates with strong background in machine learning and mathematical reasoning and experience in one or more of the following:


	Large Language Models (LLMs), multi-agent systems, or reinforcement learning.
	Formal proof assistants (Lean, Coq, Isabelle, or similar).
	Programming.
	Strong mathematical maturity.


Requirements:a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or computer science, with evidence of strong mathematical and computational skills.

The appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal. The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children. Description

The Interdisciplinary Quantum Lab in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), UAE, invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position in Experimental Quantum Science. The successful candidate will pursue research spanning quantum optics, spin-based systems, and the design and construction of advanced experimental instruments. Applicants with a strong background in physics and an interest in developing new quantum measurement platforms are especially encouraged to apply.

The selected candidate will join a highly collaborative research environment and contribute to the development of optical and spin-control experiments, precision measurement systems, and custom scientific instrumentation. The position offers opportunities to work across disciplinary boundaries and to collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students in the lab as well as the asssociated research centers across NYUAD. The successful applicant will be expected to advance the Lab's research program, contribute to collaborative projects, and participate actively in the training and mentoring of undergraduate students through research supervision and hands-on laboratory instruction.

Applicants should meet the following qualifications and possess relevant expertise:


	A PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong experimental research background, with less than 5 years post-receipt of PhD.
	Experience with optical systems, lasers, spectroscopy, quantum optics, spin physics, magnetic resonance, or related spin-based quantum platforms.
	Demonstrated ability to design, build, integrate, and troubleshoot scientific instruments, including experimental control, electronics, data acquisition, and automation, or experimental control software.
	A strong commitment to collaborative research and to undergraduate training, including mentoring students and contributing to hands-on experimental education.


The appointment will be for a period of one year, and extensions to longer terms are possible upon review.

The terms of employment for these positions include a very competitive salary with additional attractive benefits, including generous housing allowance, medical insurance with access to world class facilities, annual home leave allowance, and (if applicable) dependent private school fees. About the opportunity

The University of Sydney Medical School is the largest provider of vocational medical education in Australasia and is at the forefront of online learning for clinicians. The Master of Medicine (Critical Care) was established in 2015 and has a significant enrolment of students and alumni. There are a broad range of study areas available including the basic sciences. You will be supported by a cohort of leading clinicians, academics and medical educators from retrieval and emergency medicine, anesthetics, and intensive care medicine. Since 1856 the Sydney Medical School has been dedicated to developing caring, clinically outstanding, research-capable and globally aware graduates who have the capabilities to become leaders in medicine, public health, and research. Our staff play a major role in the provision of healthcare in NSW and in several countries in our region.

The Lecturers will assist in the development of learning materials and assessment items, contribute to unit of study teaching activities (mainly online with on-campus workshops in some units). This includes facilitating and moderating online discussion forums and webinars, monitoring student progress and providing feedback and remediation where needed, as well as marking assignments and examination papers. You will contribute to ongoing quality improvement and educational research activity in relation to the Critical Care program.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	undertake teaching in the discipline of critical care medicine, and apply scholarly activity to inform teaching and learning practice in the Master of Medicine (Critical Care Medicine) program
	engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards
	suggest, implement, and evaluate improvements and innovations in teaching and learning, where appropriate, under the guidance of more senior academic staff
	develop an understanding of best practice in teaching and learning within the discipline including engagement with relevant scholarly literature.


About you

The Faculty particularly welcomes applications in foundational common law subjects (especially private law subjects), artificial intelligence and law, intellectual property law, and PRC law. Exceptionally well-qualified candidates in other areas may also be considered.

The current starting base salary, payable over 12 months, is HK$80,825 per month (approximately US$10,350 / £7,800 per month) for Assistant Professors; HK$100,050 per month (approximately US$12,825 / £9,650 per month) for Associate Professors; and HK$126,370 per month (approximately US$16,200 / £12,190 per month) for Professors. In addition to the base salary, appointees are eligible for a monthly housing allowance and an end-of-contract gratuity, subject to prevailing terms and conditions.
