Job Description LANGUAGE CENTRE Teaching Assistant (English Section) (25260123) The appointee is expected to assist the English Section in: (i) developing supplementary teaching and learning materials; (ii) providing support to new and existing English language enhancement activities; (iii) assisting lecturers in teaching; and (iv) performing other duties as assigned by the Head of the English Section and the Head of the Language Centre. Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics/Linguistics, English, TESOL or Language Studies and a master’s degree in a related discipline with native/native-like proficiency in English. Experience in designing English language learning materials, organising language enhancement activities and analysing activity or course results and outcomes are required. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one to two years commencing September 2025. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Key Responsibilities Develop, deliver, and regularly update content relevant to their specialty across the curriculum of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme, from pre-clinical courses to clinical rotations, as well as in postgraduate programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to engage students through innovative teaching methods, fostering critical thinking, clinical reasoning, professional values and ethical practice. Provide clinical education leadership, overseeing curriculum design and delivery, student assessment and continuous quality improvement, and provide mentorship to junior members of the clinical education team. Salary: AMNL £46,675 to £80,081 (for those below ST3 on 3 August 2016); CADT £65,048 to £73,992 (for those at or above ST3 on 3 August 2016). The University of Southampton Faculty Of Medicine is offering an appointment to be based within the Southampton Clinical Trials Unit (SCTU) at Southampton General Hospital. This post holder will work within SCTU supporting a range of clinical studies. The post will provide practical training for a middle grade doctor in the conduct of clinical trials, focussing on supporting clinical trials through all stages including implementation and supporting sites in recruitment, regulatory approvals, data collection and integrity, data presentation and working with translational samples. The post is intended to provide valuable training in research governance and regulation for future clinical and translational researchers. The appointee will provide day to day medical support for SCTU under supervision from the main supervisor, Professor Simon Crabb (Professor of Experimental Cancer Therapeutics). They will have responsibility for trial development and implementation and involvement in study protocol amendments and implementation including ethics committee documentation and R&D submissions. Training in clinical trials methodology including Good Clinical Practice will be provided. The post will be at registrar level and will require a medical qualification. It would be suitable for a trainee with relevant experience in cancer clinical research as out of program experience or for someone wishing to pursue a career in these specialties prior to obtaining a training number. Job Description ACADEMY OF MUSIC The Academy of Music launched a new multi-year transformational education project to provide access to the larger community in Hong Kong. The scope of the project covers a wide range of opportunities for the under-privileged, gifted students, parents' engagement, community music, industry-higher education collaboration, and curriculum development such as the use of EdTech, art-tech, interdisciplinary learning, cross-cultural studies, and performance and pedagogical research. A key component of the project includes a new 5-6 year music programme that includes an in-school/after-school instrumental ensemble-based music training for primary school students. Post-Doctoral Research Fellow / Research Fellow (25260202) Responsibilities: Contribute to the design of an evidence-based outcome measurement framework for the project; Conduct comprehensive impact measurement research on the project with both qualitative and quantitative methods; Strengthen and refine key outcome indicators on time; Stay informed about relevant social and educational developments, including government policies and similar projects, to assess their impact on the project; Assist in writing detailed reports and produce articles for internationally refereed journals or other respected publications; and Perform any other delegated duties as required.
