About Universidad Nacional de Itapúa
Universidad Nacional de Itapua (UNI) was founded in 1996 and the campus is situated in the city of Encarnacion. Perched on the Parana River, Encarnacion is famous for its well preserved ancient wonders.
The campus is situated right in the heart of the city.
Students will find classrooms, laboratories, libraries, administrative and academic offices, recreation spaces, cultural activities, sports and other services all on the same site.
When UNI was first founded, there were just two degrees on offer: medicine and electromechanical engineering. Over the years, more and more courses have been added to its roster.
UNI now has seven faculties, including: engineering; medicine; economic and administrative sciences; science and technology; legal sciences; agricultural and forestry science; humanities, social sciences and Guarani culture.
Within these faculties, students can gain both bachelor and masters degrees in a wide variety of specialties.
Through its university well-being department, UNI has several scholarship and opportunity programmes on offer for students who stand out for their dedication and commitment to their work. The scholarships are varied and they are awarded by the university before term begins.
UNI has a strong social scene offering plenty of clubs for students to get involved with. From choirs and orchestras to theatre groups there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the academic year.
