This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on applied research projects in partnership with a local SME, contributing to innovative solutions in food and chemical engineering. This is a fixed term contract position. Job Responsibilities  Support research and development activities in waste recycling, pyrolysis reactor, in the area of chemical engineering, thermal systems, and mechanical engineering.  Conduct design and improvement of the existing pyrolysis system, Perform experiments, data analysis, and technical reporting.  Collaborate with academic staff, industry partners, and project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.  Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all research activities.  T'o communicate with any relevant stakeholders to ensure project can be completed. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned. Expected qualities:  Serve as the process lead engineer in both design, engineering and testing of Pyrolysis Reactor Systems  Involve in developing the process control narrative  To generate project specifications, design philosophy, PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, operation manuals to comply with clients’ requirement  To carry out process simulations and develop heat and material balances  To carry out hydraulic design for pumps, compressors, blowers and develop respective process datasheets  To check design outputs, datasheets and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness to design requirements and concepts  Involve in sizing the process instrument, pump and control philosophy  Experience in downstream gas cleaning processes with real experiences operating a plant  Knowledge in tar/PAH removal and separation  Prepare and deliver various engineering related presentations, both internally and externally  Support the R&D Team  Knowledge in skid module base and PLCs programming will be highly preferred  Possess good Solid-works skillset and/or ASPEN HYSYS/3D simulations expertise  Sound knowledge in applying AI into system applications  Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Thermal, Mechanical, Environmental or related disciplines).  Work experience in similar industries. Prior experience in waste recycling, pyrolysis, production of activated carbon, heat transfer, process design, process control would be an advantage.
