The university has nine faculties including business administration, law, engineering, international studies, economics, education, criminology, psychology and communication. The university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The Loyola University has three campuses that are located in Cordoba, Granada and Seville. There are a range of centres where students can take part in extracurricular activities including the music centre, art centre and film and photography centre. Students can also join sports teams.

The role We are seeking to appoint a motivated and rigorous professional, who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the MicroStructures Study Unit (MSSU) Laboratory. The post holder will participate in the experimental research activities of staff and students and will communicate effectively with different lab users. The job involves the preparation of test samples using conventional and rapid prototyping techniques, undertaking testing using advanced testing protocols, as well as installing arrangements specific for different testing configurations. The postholder will be required to support experimental projects at all academic levels, as circumstances dictate and as requested by their line manager. They will be responsible for maintaining the testing equipment in excellent working conditions and for the professional upkeep of the laboratory spaces. They will work closely with other technical staff to ensure the safe and efficient running of laboratories, and to showcase the experimental activities of Mechanical Engineering Sciences in relation to student applicants and external sponsors/clients. About you The post holder will maintain the MSSU Laboratory and set up and run laboratory tests. They will have good communication and IT skills. A qualification in Materials Engineering, or similar discipline, is desirable. Some relevant work experience in the above fields related to optical or electron would be an advantage. Project Coordination and Client Engagement Lead or participate in project discussions with customers, ensuring proper assessment of Food Safety and Occupational Safety and Health risks. Establish and maintain all necessary project documentation and compliance records. Conduct briefings and training sessions on equipment, processes, and site requirements for customers and visitors. 2. Operational Supervision and Execution Supervise or execute operations in designated rooms, ensuring compliance with established requirements. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemical Process, or a related discipline. 2-5 years of experience in Research and Development or Manufacturing processes, particularly with UHT/HTST, spray drying, extrusion, retort processing, freeze drying, and similar technologies.
