Known as ULatina, Universidad Latina de Costa Rica is the largest private university in Costa Rica, educating around 20,000 undergraduates and postgraduates.
The university offers more than 90 degree programmes, taught through six faculties: engineering and ICT; art, design and collective communication; health sciences; business and hospitality; social sciences; and technical courses. In addition, a number of short courses are delivered entirely online. It also offers more than 30 free courses, including analytics and measurements for social networks, dessert techniques and barista training.
ULatina’s Creative Campus initiative provides campus spaces for artistic experimentation and practice. These include design and Lego workshops, as well as a photography studio, TV and radio studios, a screening room and computer labs with design, animation and project-creation software.
Most students live in private shared apartments off-campus. University clubs and societies are divided into sports and skills, with the former including taekwondo, table tennis and cheerleading, and the latter including the makers club.
