Description The Center of Astrophysics and Space Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work with the Mars Research Group to support scientific investigations of the Martian atmosphere and surface using data from the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) “Hope” probe. The position contributes to ongoing research, data analysis, simulation efforts, and dissemination of scientific results from Hope observations. The funding for this position is provided by the UAE Space Agency. The successful applicant will; Analyze Emirates Mars Mission (Hope) data: Conduct detailed analysis of atmospheric and surface observations collected by the UAE’s Hope probe to support scientific goals of understanding Martian atmospheric and surface processes. Assist with analysis of additional Mars mission datasets: Examine and interpret complementary data from other Mars missions to strengthen current models and provide comparative insights that enhance research conclusions from Hope observations. Develop Machine Learning methods and run numerical simulations on NYUAD’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) system. Support preparation of scientific manuscripts and presentations: Assist in drafting reports, papers, and conference materials to communicate research findings to the global scientific community. A candidate with a Master’s degree is preferred; however, the minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in physics, computer science, or a related discipline. The role requires strong programming skills in Python, competency in data analysis and scientific computing, and the ability to work with large datasets. Description The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a highly motivated researcher to work on topics in the theoretical foundations of data science and AI. About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS) The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program, of international level, to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions. Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. Job Description We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on innovative solutions in desalination and sustainable water resource management, with a particular focus on assessing the quality of water intended for agricultural use. The selected candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of desalination processes (membrane-RO), the analysis of treated water quality (especially in relation to agronomic requirements), and the study of environmental impacts associated with the reuse of such water. Key Responsibilities: The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing and optimizing desalination processes, particularly reverse osmosis, with a focus on sustainability and efficiency. The work will involve improving the performance of treatment systems and proposing solutions tailored to agricultural water needs. Job Description The Sustainable Materials Research Center (SUSMAT-RC) at UM6P invites applications for a faculty position in Chemical and catalytic conversion of Biomass and its components. Applicants with expertise in, but not limited to, heterogenous catalysis, catalyst synthesis and characterization, thermochemical conversion including pyrolysis and hydrothermal processing of biomass and its components into chemicals and fuels, are particularly invited to apply. The successful candidate will plan, develop and conduct applied research projects dedicated to the conversion of biomass and its components (lignin, cellulose, oils, etc) into new chemicals and biofuels using catalytic and green chemical pathways. As a rapidly growing research center, an ideal candidate for this role will be self-motivated, organized, and able to work in ambiguous and changeable situations. A minimum experience of 5 years after the completion of the PhD is required to be eligible for this position. Key Duties The successful candidate is expected to: Lead all aspects related to catalytic conversion of biomass within SUSMAT – RC. Transfer the knowledge and findings related to the catalytic conversion of biomass and its components to researchers at UM6P, external clients, and/or collaborators when required. Collaborate with SUSMAT – RC researchers through the identification and development of new concepts to be applied to sustainable materials and derivatives and their industrial applications thereof. Design and teach advanced courses related to catalysis, biomass conversion and green chemistry for the benefit of Master and PhD students at UM6P, Assist in the delivery of engineering solutions to enable the rapid evolution of applied research through the various TRL levels to development and manufacturing (TRL 3-9). Work with members of SUSMAT – RC, other faculty members, companies, and different consortia to identify concepts to rapidly test and translate research innovations to products and/or processes for commercialization. Collaborate with other members of SUSMAT – RC in writing manuscripts for publication, filing patents, and developing research proposals to expand research programs consistent with the strategic vision of the center. Assist in the management and administration of the SUSMAT – RC. This activity may include several components, notably (a) collect, analyze, and summarize scientific literature relevant to a given project/technology, (b) develop specific sections in relevant areas of expertise for a given proposal, (c) coordinate the organization of proposal applications in specific area of expertise.
