We are seeking an excellent Executive Assistant to join our staff in the School of Business to assist in the administration and support of our suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and research work. The successful candidate will work as part of an administration team reporting to the Head of School or delegated School of Business Administrative Lead. This is a challenging position in a busy office and the candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to work accurately under pressure and on their own ability. The person must be discreet, trustworthy and capable of dealing with confidential material. The position offered is an excellent opportunity for talented individuals who are keen on making a mark in a growing School by actively engaging in supporting the ongoing operational needs of the School. Given the nature of the role, this is an in-person only role. Salary: Executive Assistant (2026): €32,530 – €48,930 p.a. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. This role supports the Future Ship and System Design (FSSD) Programme, which aims to accelerate the decarbonisation and digitalisation of Singapore’s maritime sector. The project focuses on developing planning methods to support the electrification of harbour craft fleets, using real-world operational data to derive charging demand profiles and infrastructure recommendations. As part of this work, we are seeking a Research Fellow to lead the development of a user-friendly GUI tool that will enable stakeholders to interact with planning models and visualise simulation outputs. The RF will also support increasing coordination between different projects as the number of case studies and incoming datasets continues to grow. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop a GUI tool to make model inputs/outputs accessible to end-users Collaborate with project leads and researchers to ensure technical accuracy of the interface Support integration of simulation outputs across Projects 3-1 and 3-2 Manage and process large sets of operational data for case study analysis Contribute expertise in power grid optimisation to enhance planning models Participate in stakeholder engagements and respond to evolving technical needs Job Requirements: A strong background in power systems, energy modelling, or grid optimisation Proficiency in GUI development (e.g. using Python Dash, Tkinter, or web-based frameworks) Experience working with data-driven simulation and model validation in power grids (Ph.D level is mandatory) Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment Prior exposure to maritime or transport-related electrification studies is a plus

Your personal sphere of influence: The Institute of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry is seeking to fill a position of University assistant predoctoral. The group for Chemical Sensing and Rapid Analysis at the University of Vienna designs novel biomimetic recognition materials targeting analytes reaching from small molecules to nanostructures and biological systems. It is internationally reputed in the areas of polymer-based and self-organized sensor layers. The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration. Your future tasks: The successful candidate will develop controlled synthesis strategies to obtain surface-imprinted polymer thin films and especially focus on batch-to-batch reproducibility. They will use micrometer-size templates, i.e. microparticles and bacteria. The polymer layers will be characterized both for their material properties and as sensing layers in the liquid phase, especially for electrochemical and mass-sensitive detection. For that purpose, they will use a range of instrumentation techniques (e.g. scanning probe microscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, DLS, zetasizer) to characterize the materials and their interactions with the analytes.
