United States International University - Africa, commonly referred to as USIU Africa, is a private university located in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, Africa.

It was initially established in 1969 as the Nairobi Campus of United States International University. In 1999 it was established as a separate university under its current name.

The university offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses in a wide range of subjects through its five major schools: The Chandaria School of Business, The School of Science and Technology, The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, The School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and The School of Graduate Studies, Research and Extension.

USIU is a diverse academic institution that hosts students from 130 countries and has wide range of research partnerships with leading institutions across the world.

Some of the initiatives at the university includes the Global Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship (GAME) and the Development Partnerships in Higher Education (DELPHE). The university has partnerships with a number of global organisation including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The university has a large campus located in the Roysambu neighbourhood which includes all sorts of amenities like the cafeterias, playgrounds, sports facilities, libraries and research centres. There are a number of student clubs and organisations and support is offered to students with disabilities. The school also offers assistance to students looking for employment through its Student Employment Office.

This position will drive innovation through academic expertise in liver studies and translational research. The appointee will foster interdisciplinary collaborations, deliver research-led education, and mentor early-career researchers, ensuring King’s College London remains at the forefront of addressing contemporary healthcare challenges .The role will involve conducting and leading high-impact research aligned to the research themes of the Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies (RW-ILS), while developing and maintaining an externally funded research programme. Core outputs will include: publishing high-quality research outputs in peer-reviewed journals, enhancing the Faculty’s research profile and supporting its Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission; fostering interdisciplinary collaborations within the Faculty and with external research groups, including national and international partners; providing research-led teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the MBBS, MSc, and PGCert courses, ensuring alignment with the Faculty’s education strategy; supervising and mentoring PhD students and early-career researchers, promoting a culture of innovation, excellence, and academic development; contributing to the design and delivery of teaching modules; actively engaging in academic administration and committee work as required, contributing to the Faculty’s strategic and operational goals. Duration and Requirements of the Fellowship The duration of the Fellowship will normally be three years. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project, funded by Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), where you will be part of the research team to develop a scalable and comprehensive framework for formal verification of quantum programs. The framework consists of the following deliverables: Intermediate Language. We plan to develop an intermediate language to model quantum programs. The intermediate language would be complete to describe all the desired characteristics of quantum computing while at the same time simple enough to be understood by most programmers. Formal Verification Framework. We plan to develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in the proposed intermediate language. Mechanization. We plan to mechanize the formal framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. Proof Automation. We plan to develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools. Have a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related areas. Possessing a Master degree will be advantageous. Digital innovators and the healthcare workforce work together in a multi-disciplinary environment to develop safe and scalable solutions. The training arm of the Hub works collaboratively with the other Hub arms, including AI training, co-design strategies, entrepreneurship, industrial partner engagement, Patient and Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE), digital health innovation, and the research pilots embedded in the Hub. The four core pillars are Training, Co-design, Translation & Acceleration.  Organised and delivery-focused, you will join an established team and bring experience in gathering, interpreting, and presenting data to demonstrate impact. Experience of matrix working would be beneficial, as the programme facilitates collaborative efforts to identify and overcome barriers to effective integration and translation across disciplines. You will work closely with subject matter experts and the learning technologist to maintain and enhance existing asynchronous training resources, as well as create new engaging materials for a range of audiences in digital health. The role also supports the delivery of in-person training, from advertising and bursary coordination to post-course feedback collection.  The successful candidate will collaborate with the learning technologist to understand the learning objectives of course participants and engage with supporters, patients, and the public in workshops led by participants.
