B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) Limited until: 14.11.2027 Reference no.: 5631 Professor Lewisch's professorship is a unit of the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology with a research focus on white-collar criminal law, criminal procedural law, and its relationship to constitutional and European law. Its focus is interdisciplinary (including legal economics) and international. Your personal sphere of influence: As a prae-doc at this chair, you will receive comprehensive training in criminal law (and, if desired, in related areas of law), including practical legal practice. After initial training, you will work in the full range of criminal law and criminal procedural law, including international and interdisciplinary aspects, and will write your dissertation in this field. In addition, you will also undertake teaching duties as your career progresses. The duration of the contract upon employment is 1 year due to the retirement of Prof. Lewisch. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means: You participate in research projects and academic studies, as well as in the organization of conferences and symposia. We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months. You will work on your dissertation and its completion and on possible other publications (articles, contributions). You will supervise students. You will independently teach courses within the scope of the collective agreement. You will assume administrative tasks in research and teaching. Position I) IT, Programming, Earth and Environment The Earth and Environmental Sciences programme invites applications for a research-oriented faculty position at the intersection of Earth and environmental systems and information technologies. It provides a rigorous foundation in the Earth and Environmental Sciences, while enabling students to have flexibility to choose courses and undertake research in specialized areas of interest. The transdisciplinary curriculum covers geosciences, environmental sciences, and related social sciences. At its foundation are core courses in natural sciences together with requisite courses in the humanities and social sciences. The strength of the programme lies in its breadth and cross-disciplinary nature with specific areas of study in hydrology, geodynamics, ecology, and environmental policy and abundant opportunities for field trips in the proximate mountains. An overarching theme of the EES Program is understanding the environmental and earth science processes that shape mountain settings, as well as how these interact with mountain communities and livelihoods. Some of the practical topics covered include sustainable management of natural resources; natural hazard mitigation; food security; climate change adaptation; water resources and sustainable energy alternatives. Students receive practical training outside of the classroom in laboratory exercises, summer internships, and in a senior project (diploma thesis), which prepares them for career opportunities or graduate study in earth and environmental science fields.
