Part time (0.5FTE), continuing position Exciting opportunity to be a Lecturer within the Sydney Medical School Base Salary starting from $127,436 pro rata + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Lecturer (Teaching and Research) applies research and scholarly activity to inform teaching practice while continuing to build their research contribution, expertise and impact. This role makes a significant contribution to teaching and learning design, delivery and evaluation, alongside developing an active research profile. Working under broad direction, the Lecturer provides subject matter expertise, contributes sound advice and recommendations, and collaborates across academic teams to deliver high-quality educational outcomes and impactful research. Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct original research independently or as part of a team, contributing to publications, conference presentations and securing research funding undertake independent teaching and apply research and scholarly activity to enhance educational practice and outcomes deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences aligned with university standards develop innovative teaching approaches and evaluate teaching effectiveness for continuous improvement coordinate academic staff activities and provide training and mentoring to less experienced lecturers provide academic support to the CCS Office and Head of Clinical School including through student support and Affiliate reviews and recommendations carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty and school meetings contribute to a positive workplace culture that values diversity, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda build professional profile through conferences, seminars and outreach activities engage in translational research and establish collaborations for research, development, commercialisation and policy improvement undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required. About you a doctorate in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training such as a Masters by coursework or thesis and with relevant experience current AHPRA registration (where applicable) proven experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity a developing research profile in discipline or area of expertise demonstrated experience teaching within established programs across a variety of settings proven capability designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives strong communication, presentation and organisational skills a developing network of academic, industry and professional partners and stakeholders.
