The School of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a Senior Teaching Laboratory Technician with the knowledge, practical skill and management ability to support the delivery of a high-quality student experience in our teaching laboratories. The role involves specialist support and managing the running of the laboratories, maintaining and updating experiments as required. This also includes demonstrating to students and staff, and good understanding of physics and experimental method is advantageous. Working independently or with minimum levels of direct supervision is important, as is being able to ask for help when it’s needed. Good communication skills and team work are essential. Hands on working, guiding students to reach their potential will be at the heart of what you do. During the teaching term, you will ensure the experiments are running smoothly and help the students understand how to get the most out of them.
