The GB Recruitment Support Officer plays a key role in supporting student recruitment across the Great Britain domestic market for Queen's University Belfast. Working within the Global Student Recruitment team, the postholder will help plan and deliver targeted recruitment activities designed to attract, inform and convert prospective students from schools and colleges across the south of England. This role focuses on building strong relationships with key stakeholders including school advisers, teachers and education partners, while representing the University at recruitment fairs, school visits and other outreach events. The successful candidate will deliver engaging presentations, provide one to one guidance to prospective students, and support innovative campaigns and events that enhance the applicant experience and encourage applications to Queen's. The postholder will collaborate closely with colleagues across the University, including Faculty Student Recruitment Hubs, Strategic Marketing and Communications, Admissions and academic schools, ensuring recruitment activity is coordinated, effective and aligned with institutional priorities. They will also maintain accurate records within the University's CRM system, respond to enquiries from prospective students and contribute to the development of promotional materials and communications. This is a dynamic and externally focused role requiring excellent communication, organisational and relationship building skills. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, comfortable managing a varied schedule of recruitment activity, and committed to promoting the opportunities available at Queen's University Belfast to prospective students across Great Britain. This is a remote role based in the south of England, with regular travel across the region to deliver recruitment activity. The postholder will also be required to travel to Belfast for key recruitment events, such as Open Days and Offer Holder Days, as required. About the person The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: A degree (or equivalent qualification) or substantial relevant professional experience. Significant experience in marketing, business development, student recruitment or a customer focused role within the education sector or a service oriented organisation. Experience delivering presentations or information sessions to a range of audiences. The role requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend work, as well as regular travel to schools, recruitment fairs and events primarily across the south of England. Candidates must hold a full driving licence and be able to travel as required.

The Faculty of Arts, University of Helsinki, invites applications for the position of UNIVERSITY LECTURER OF THEORETICAL PHILOSOPHY for a fixed-term position 1.8.2026-31.12.2031 (or starting as agreed). The position includes a six-month trial period and is located at the Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies. The applicant is expected to have in-depth expertise in the field of knowledge theory as well as sufficient expertise in teaching other core fields of theoretical philosophy (particularly metaphysics and philosophy of mind) in both the bachelor’s and master’s programmes. Expertise in the philosophy of language is considered an asset. The appointee’s teaching duties include lecture courses and master’s seminars related to the theory of knowledge and other core fields of theoretical philosophy. The assignment also includes the planning of new courses. Successful completion of the duties associated with the position requires, in particular, good interaction and cooperation skills. The university lecturer will actively contribute to degree programme development and teaching planning in collaboration with colleagues at the department and degree programmes. Broad-based expertise in film and television studies and versatile teaching skills, as well as collaboration with other disciplines in art studies, are considered an asset. Requirements for the position and assessment of qualifications According to the Regulations of the University of Helsinki, appointees to university lectureships must hold an applicable doctoral degree and have the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and supervise theses (usually prepared in Finnish). The selected applicant must demonstrate evidence of independent post-doctoral research as well as sufficient teaching experience suited to the position. When assessing the qualifications of applicants, attention will be paid to scholarly publications and other research results of scholarly value, teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce learning materials, other teaching merits and, if necessary, a teaching demonstration. Pursuant to the Government Decree on Universities (770/2009), appointees to teaching and research positions at the University must be proficient in the language in which they provide instruction, i.e., Finnish or Swedish. The language of instruction in the present position is Finnish. To successfully attend to the duties of the position, the appointee must also have satisfactory skills in Swedish and good skills in English.
