Description The Center for Cyber Security (https://sites.nyuad.nyu.edu/ccs-ad/) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate / Associate Research Scientist to conduct studies in cyber security, focusing on systems security and privacy. Applicants with a PhD (or expected) with publications in top conferences such as USENIX, NDSS, CSS, and S&P are encouraged to apply. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. Research in the Cyber Security center relevant to this position focuses on the three tracks below (the cover letter should mention which track the application is for, otherwise it will be rejected): Privacy-preserving computation using Fully Homomorphic Encryption Industrial Control Systems security Machine learning security and privacy Responsibilities of the position include performing research in system security, submitting publications in top cyber security conferences and journals, reviewing for top conferences, and mentoring junior researchers. Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant discipline, with no more than 5 years post receipt of their PhD. The ideal candidate will have stellar publication record with papers appearing in top security conferences, including USENIX, NDSS, CCS, and S&P. Applications will be accepted immediately. LEI strives to become a regional and international leader in language education, particularly in the application of the latest technologies in language learning, teaching and assessment. It drives scholarship and best practices in language education among the PolyU community. LEI comprises the Chinese Language Centre (CLC), English Language Centre (ELC) and Technology-Enhanced Language Education Centre (TELEC), which are constituent units with their own Directors. CLC and ELC offer service language teaching in Chinese and English for all students in the University while TELEC undertakes service language teaching using digital learning platforms and technological tools such as artificial intelligence and immersive technologies. The role This is a prestigious 5-year fellowship (upto March 2031) funded by AWE Nuclear Security Technologies. The successful candidate will spend around half of their time working with the wider team in AWE's Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Materials Ageing, Performance and Lifetime Prediction. This will include working collaboratively with our six visiting researchers, around 15 Surrey academics and researchers across Engineering and Chemistry, doctoral researchers, and technical staff across the University. You will also join the steering group for the CoE. The role also enables the successful applicant to spend up to half of their time developing their own materials ageing research with a healthy consumables and travel budget to support this. In addition to carrying out research their is an expectation of leadership in terms of supporting the CoE community in research excellence, impact and external academic and industrial engagement. This fellowship will suit a researcher whose education and experience is in materials physics, chemistry, or engineering, but whose can work in a multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working hands‑on with materials and abstracting analysing physical and chemical behaviour for solving materials problems and modelling. Prior experience may span experimental investigation, modelling, or data analysis, but a willingness to move between these modes of work is essential About you You will be: An enthusiastic researcher and communicator. Able to work effectively with the wider team at the University of Surrey, at AWE and beyond. Driven to define and deliver high quality ageing research and manage its impact.
