About Entity (ASARI): The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) is a component of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). It is located in Laayoune City, in south of Morocco. Its vision is targeting real, local, regional, and African challenges in the fields of agricultural in dry lands and marginal environments, animal value chain, water and energy sustainability, biorefinery and bioenergy, cultivation and conversion of micro and macroalgae, and geology and mining. Oriented towards Africa, ASARI acts in connection with a wide network of universities and research centers around the continent in order to link real field issues with up-to-date science. The institute has attracted multidisciplinary research teams composed of food engineers, agronomists, biochemists, biologists, … etc. Description of the position: Preparation of research activities in agrifood technology Assistance in the teaching activities as a team member of biomass valorization program at UM6P-ASARI, to support courses related to: Food technology (for farmers). Biorefinery Technology Instrumental process and product control. Assistance in the internal and external services of the department. Research proposal writing for external funding Strong expertise and international network in Agrifood science Supervision of Master-students, PhDs. Manuscript writing and publication in peer-reviewed journal. Education Ph.D. in Agrifood science or related field from a recognized University Requirement 3-5 years’ experience in the field of Agrifood science  High publication record in leading international and well ranked journals Strong experience in supervising Master and PhD students. High interested in applied research. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary research team. Ability to initiate, conduct, and publish research results in a scientific manner and to attract external funding. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. The ability to communicate fluently in English.

Your workplace: As a Senior Lecturer, you will be employed in teaching for the teaching degree for secondary schools (general education) in the field of General Principles of Educational Sciences (“Allgemeine Bildungswissenschaftliche Grundlagen”) with special consideration of the school pedagogical perspective. The employment of 40 hours/week includes a teaching obligation of an average of 14 hours per week of academic teaching. Two positions are being advertised. Both positions include a teaching portfolio with courses in areas such as teaching and learning, school and profession, differentiation and inclusion, and administrative support for teaching. Specialisation 1: The focus is on knowledge of professional competences and its application in the school context. In particular, the position requires skills in school-related teaching and learning from an educational science or explicitly school pedagogical perspective. Specialisation 2: The specialisation is characterised by the active participation in the design of teaching practice (“Pädagogisch-praktische Studien”) in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes. In particular, the position requires pedagogical and practical skills and the associated knowledge of the link between competences acquired at university and concrete teaching and school practice requirements. Experience in the organization of school and teaching internships is an advantage. Furthermore, the following is desired: Knowledge of the acquisition or development of basic profession-related competencies Knowledge of social environments and inclusive interaction with students, parents/guardians and other relevant actors in the school environment as well as the design of learning in a diversity-responsive school Knowledge in the field of language education, communication and language skills Knowledge of group dynamic processes (e.g. classroom discussions, interaction processes, media and digitality), classroom management and conflict management. Your future tasks: You will independently hold courses at Bachelor's and Master's level You will make an active contribution to the (further) development of course and examination formats. It is located in Laayoune City and constitutes a structure of practical-based research with a vision of offering versatile infrastructure for cultivation and conversion of algae based on merging biotechnology, environmental science, and sustainability. Driven by innovation, sustainability, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the center aims to bridge research and practical applications for the development of a large spectrum of applications in agriculture, cosmetical, pharmaceuticals, feed and food industry, bioremediation, climate change mitigation, and renewable energy production. Description of the position: Train and teach undergraduate and/or graduate students on marine biology, seaweeds cultivation, and aquaculture, as well as special courses related to the candidate's specialization. Supervise M.Sc. and PhD students. Develop research proposals and instigate high-quality research aligned with the vision of the research center. Participate in various committees at the center, college, and university levels. Enhance the research profile of the center through the publication of research findings. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the management of the center. Effectively disseminate research outcomes through publications and presentations to academic peers, students, and the broader community. Dedicate to continuous professional development, staying abreast of the latest advancements in bioprocess engineering and related fields. Education Ph.D. in marine biology or a closely related field, demonstrating advanced knowledge in seaweed biology, ecology, and cultivation Requirement Strong commitment to lead innovative research initiatives in bioprocessing technologies. Active research profile, showcasing potential for future research independence through fellowship, co-investigation, collaboration, etc…. Experience in supervising M.Sc. and PhD within the seaweed biology domain. Experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students in marine biology, specifically in seaweeds cultivation. Proficiency in collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams. Active engagement in research activities, such as writing research proposals and contributing to the research profile of the center through publications. Established publication record in peer-reviewed journals as the first author. Participation in relevant committees, commitment to continuous professional development, and effective communication of research outcomes.
