About the ORIGINS COLLECTIVE The ORIGINS COLLECTIVE at The University of Hong Kong is a newly established research initiative focused on understanding how the Solar System formed, how it evolved, how habitable environments were established on terrestrial planets, and which processes shaped planets into their current states. We seek a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in mass spectrometry to support and advance research in cosmochemistry, early Earth evolution, geochronology, and low-temperature geochemistry. This is a unique opportunity to help establish and manage cutting-edge analytical facilities in a dynamic research environment. Key Responsibilities Work closely with Professor Nicolas Dauphas to establish new analytical facilities at HKU Maintain, operate, and support users of the newly installed Neoma MC-ICP-MS Conduct independent and collaborative research within the lab’s focus areas Assist with laboratory management, training, and method development Requirements PhD in Earth Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field Hands-on experience with MC-ICP-MS, TIMS, and nitrogen and noble gas analysis Experience with wet chemistry, laser ablation, and clean lab procedures Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research and work effectively in a team  Inquiries For further information, please contact Prof. Nicolas Dauphas at dauphas@hku.hk. The Hollow Core Fibre Group at the University of Southampton is seeking a Principal Enterprise Fellow to lead key industry partnerships. Our team is at the forefront of hollow core fibre development, and this role offers the unique chance to realise significant opportunities at a major inflection point for this emerging technology.  You will join a collaborative, supportive group and have opportunity to thrive in a university environment developing future technology. Working hours are flexible, with the option for hybrid working.  Role overview You will manage business operations for a portfolio of industry-funded research projects, owning the commercial relationship with sponsors, negotiating next-phase proposals, and developing robust processes for project contracting, compliance, and execution. You will forge new industry partnerships in an expanding array of contacts across priority application areas. Working closely with the technical team, you will lead the creation and buildout of enterprise fibre sales capability, coordinating efforts with University professional services teams. You will own the operational lifecycle of new projects, orchestrating contracting and compliance, enabling timely set up, and running project governance with the Principal Investigator.  What you will achieve in your first 12 months: Negotiate and secure next-phase proposals in existing projects and open new partnerships in priority areas Develop an intake workflow to triage new opportunities: gather scope/deliverables, map to capability, identify and manage IP/publication/export sensitivities Standardise a fibre-sales contracting process, coordinating inputs across professional services: Finance, Contracts, Legal, Technology Transfer, Export Control Create unified trackers, decision logs, and reporting tools to align project teams Essential qualifications, skills, & experience: PhD or equivalent experience  Demonstrated success scoping, costing, proposing, winning, and executing large, complex R&D projects Strong project management fundamentals with demonstrated cycle‑time & delivery improvements Excellent communications and multi-stakeholder coordination  Contracts and compliance literacy (NDAs, SoWs, publication, IP, export)  Microsoft Office fluency Desirable skills & experience: R&D experience in photonics or fibre-optics US government contracting and compliance  Experience in business development or technical sales; strong client relationship management  Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate)  AI tools (especially Copilot) for proposal and project management workflows  Contract & reporting Funded to 28/2/28 with potential to extend. Description The Smart Materials Lab (Panče Naumov Group) in the Division of Science and Mathematics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an associate research scientist to work on crystal structure determination using electron or X-ray crystallography. Candidates must have substantial experience in crystallography, specifically in the structure solution and refinement of small molecule crystals using either electron or X-ray diffraction techniques. While candidates with experience in structure analysis based on powder diffraction, neutron diffraction, or scattering data will also be considered, preference will be given to those with expertise in electron diffraction. Candidates should be capable of preparing samples, independently collecting data, and solving and refining crystal structures, including those that are theoretically and experimentally challenging, such as structures that exhibit twinning, disorder, or that change or decay over time. Proficiency in refining structures from electron diffraction data collected using a microscope or specialized equipment is preferred. The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement. The successful candidate is also expected to play an active role in other projects and activities within the Smart Materials Lab and assist in supervising undergraduate or PhD students. Applicants must hold a PhD with at least 3 years of experience in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related field, with a focus on crystallography. About the role Within the School of Veterinary Medicine, you will join the Section of Molecular Cellular Medicine within the Discipline of Comparative Biomedical Sciences. In the role you will: Establish and lead a sustainable research group, developing complex, multi-organ in vitro models for predictive disease research Work collaboratively with other researchers in the School to design and develop applications of in vitro models in their research areas Generate high quality publications and demonstrable impact Secure significant external research income to support the work of your research group Foster cross-disciplinary collaborations, including in silico modelling e.g. digital twins Enhance industry engagement and translational research impact.
