Outstanding disciplinary influence: Eighteen disciplines at SYSU rank among the world’s top one percent according to ESI 2016, tied for second most among mainland Chinese universities; among these disciplines, eleven rank in the world’s top 0.5 percent, and two rank in the world’s top 0.1 percent.

First-rate faculty team: SYSU counts twenty members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 42 distinguished professors of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program, and 79 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars among its faculty. Summer Program at SYSU

Since 2010, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) has operated the International Summer Program (ISP) every July. The program serves as a widely recognized global gathering for international students, regular SYSU students, and professors. The program links Chinese language, politics and cultural studies, and business management, especially in relation to the Pearl River Delta and South China regions, where SYSU is located.

The program covers a wide range of topics, reflecting both the past 10 years of economic achievements and recent challenges to both the region and the country. In addition to classroom instruction, local company visits and cultural excursions are also offered in the program. Being part of this program means meeting new people, approaching new cultures, and tapping into new resources.

Students from various cultural backgrounds will be recruited to study in the same classroom. SYSU will provide a cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural and cross-border atmosphere of collaborative learning, in addition to varied campus cultural activities for ISP students to broaden their international horizons and enhance their international competencies. Offering a unique international education experience, XJTLU brings together excellent research practice and expertise from both institutions and gives students the skills and knowledge they need to secure careers in a global marketplace. XJTLU now has over 25,000 enrolled students in both Suzhou China and Liverpool in the UK, with plans to grow to 35,000 students soon. The organisation and delivery of University Open Days for Undergraduate and Postgraduate prospective students is an essential component to recruit high quality students and showcase what the University of Southampton has to offer.
