Sun Yat-sen University, founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen and with an educational tradition spanning over 100 years, is a preeminent research, academic and cultural center and the premier location for talent development in South China. Outstanding disciplinary influence: Eighteen disciplines at SYSU rank among the world’s top one percent according to ESI 2016, tied for second most among mainland Chinese universities; among these disciplines, eleven rank in the world’s top 0.5 percent, and two rank in the world’s top 0.1 percent.

First-rate faculty team: SYSU counts twenty members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 42 distinguished professors of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program, and 79 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars among its faculty. The number of high-level talents ranks in the top among Chinese universities.

Summer Program at SYSU

Since 2010, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) has operated the International Summer Program (ISP) every July. The program serves as a widely recognized global gathering for international students, regular SYSU students, and professors. The program links Chinese language, politics and cultural studies, and business management, especially in relation to the Pearl River Delta and South China regions, where SYSU is located.

The program covers a wide range of topics, reflecting both the past 10 years of economic achievements and recent challenges to both the region and the country. In addition to classroom instruction, local company visits and cultural excursions are also offered in the program. Being part of this program means meeting new people, approaching new cultures, and tapping into new resources.

Students from various cultural backgrounds will be recruited to study in the same classroom. SYSU will provide a cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural and cross-border atmosphere of collaborative learning, in addition to varied campus cultural activities for ISP students to broaden their international horizons and enhance their international competencies. Your personal sphere of influence: The Ries lab is developing super-resolution microscopy methods for structural cell biology and is looking for a PhD student to join the team. The Max Perutz Labs is a joint research institute of the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna. About the Role The Senior Lecturer, Aviation will contribute to teaching and research within the Department of Aerospace Engineering in the School of Engineering. The role includes delivery of Aviation programs and active engagement in research and professional activities. The appointee will develop and lead research aligned with University priorities, contributing to research income and outputs, and building collaborative links across RMIT and with external partners. The role may also include responsibility for Aviation program management. The position is suited to candidates with expertise in areas such as airline and airport operations, aviation safety and human factors, or crewed and uncrewed air operations and air traffic management.
