Starting in two hired rooms in 1994, IBA has grown to become Pakistan’s fifth-ranked provider of business higher education in the 2022 Higher Education Commission rankings. Located in Sindh’s third-largest city, on the banks of the Indus river, IBA proclaims a mission to "Contribute and serve the community by importing knowledge through innovative teaching and applied research at global levels of excellence". The outreach element includes leading a network of 13 community colleges and a second campus at Khandkar, in a region with lower educational attainment than the rest of the state. In 2023, IBA conferred 546 degrees across its faculties of management science, computer science, electrical engineering, computer systems engineering, education and mathematics. Around 70 per cent of students receive financial assistance, while IBA’s assessment systems are used by the Sindh government to select recipients of more than 3,000 scholarships offered state-wide to minority communities. The main 25-hectare campus on the airport road in Sukkur is home to 10,000 trees, and in 2017 was named as Pakistan’s first "green campus" by the World Wildlife Fund. Billing itself as offering a "market-based curriculum", IBA provides facilities including a financial trading laboratory. Since 2012, the CEL+Inc incubator has helped launch 33 enterprises and currently accommodates another 25.

Work closely with centre head and internal/external stakeholders (including other IHLs) to support or drive applied research, and innovation initiatives outcomes.  Outcomes include impact or revenue of industry partners Understand industry partners requirements and help create proposals to them. Create IP (Intellectual Property) from internal grants to target multiple adopters Job Requirements A good Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) research or application.  A minimum of 8 years working experience in industry. Strong technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:  Usage of AI tools or software to solve industry problems or enhance industry operations Computer Vision and Image Processing  Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning  Large Language Models (LLMs) and Multimodal Models  Generative AI, Agentic AI, Physical AI, and Embodied AI  Trustworthy AI, including explainability, auditability, and privacy  Edge AI and model optimisation  Time-series modelling and anomaly detection  Digital twins and simulation  Demonstrated Applied AI for Healthcare and clinical practice  Industry 4.0 and/or Industry 5.0 (added advantage) Experience utilizing AI tools to one or more of SIT’s focus areas: Advanced Manufacturing & Semiconductors, Urban Systems, AI-Augmented Engineering, AI Safety & Security, Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology, AI for Healthcare as well as Hospitality & Tourism.  Must have a firm grasp and understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture using Python, R, Java and C/C#/C++, as well as competence in mathematics including probability, statistics and algorithms. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to support the project "Social networking in the era of artificially intelligent agents” funded by the Research Council of Finland. The direction is to design new AI-supported experimental or observational research methods to understand the foundations of social life. In particular, we will focus on the microfoundations of social networking—why do we actually know the people we know? How and to what extent do we choose our acquaintances? And decision-making—why do we decide what we do in a given context? Your role and goals Your primary goal in this position will be to do excellent research at the borderland of behavioral, social, and computer science, both in collaboration with the Aalto team and within your existing professional network. We aim to continue publishing in top international interdisciplinary or social science venues. In addition to research work, persons hired are expected to participate in teaching in accordance with the department’s standard practices. Your network and collaborators You will work closely together with the PI, his group of three Ph.D. students, and his international colleagues. You will also be embedded in the vibrant Society & Networks research area, with 8 faculty members and around 30 students and postdocs. Your experience and background Requirements for postdoc applicants:  Ph.D. in behavioral, cognitive, or social science, or a Ph.D. with a computational profile (computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, or natural science) and active experience with interdisciplinary collaborations with the previous fields.  The Ph.D. should be no more than three years old at the date of application (disregarding parental leaves and similar career breaks). Successful applicants will likely have a strong background in research related to at least one of the themes listed below, but the specific combination of expertise is flexible, with the overall composition of the team being most important. Effects of management and ecosystem-related changes on salmon life-history phenotype and genotypes Evolutionary genomic approaches for assessing the effects of recent fishing management changes and invasive Pink salmon abundance on life-history phenotypes and genotypes.
