As the first psychology department in Hong Kong, established in 1968, our department has a rich history of academic excellence. Ranked 3rd in Asia and 35th worldwide in the 2026 QS World University Ranking in the subject of Psychology, our 25 faculty members and over 100 research postgraduates and postdoctoral fellows actively engage in a wide range of research areas, including clinical and health psychology, cognitive psychology and neuropsychology, developmental and educational psychology, human neuroscience and artificial intelligence, as well as social and personality psychology. Our department offers comprehensive undergraduate, taught postgraduate, MPhil, and PhD programs in psychology. We also support open science and strive for high integrity, trustworthy, replicable and reproducible research. We value diverse research methodologies. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of bridging basic and translational research, especially those whose work emphasizes the Asian cultural context and its influence on psychological processes. Additionally, demonstrated excellence in teaching is considered an essential qualification for this role, reflecting our commitment to fostering an outstanding educational environment. The appointee is expected to maintain an active research programme, and be responsible for teaching courses and supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as contributing to the administration of the Department and academic programmes. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract- end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with a veterinary degree and MRCVS for two part-time (0.5 FTE) Lecturer posts, one to act as Student Engagement Lead, and one to act as Learning Resources Lead. Successful applicants will join a team of fellow professionals within the School of Veterinary Medicine committed to providing excellence in teaching for the benefit of a new generation of vets. About you The successful candidate will be a confident, credible professional who enjoys working at the interface of academia, industry and investment, and who can build strong, trusted relationships with researchers, senior stakeholders and external partners. You will be proactive, analytically strong and politically astute, with the ability to quickly grasp complex technologies, assess their commercial potential and guide them through to successful exploitation. You will need: A relevant postgraduate qualification (Science, Engineering, Createch, or similar) or substantial equivalent vocational management experience. Strong commercialisation and market evaluation skills together with the ability to develop business plans and financial forecasts for spinouts and startups.
