About State University of Feira de Santana

As its name suggests, the State University of Feira de Santana is located in Feira de Santana, the second-most populous city in the state of Bahia, Brazil.

The university was established in 1970 as a result of governmental strategy aimed at bringing higher education to the interior regions of Bahia, which were previously limited to its capital city, Salvador.

There is a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programmes available for students to study at the university from arts and humanities to science and technology.

The university is committed to research and community engagement. Through research projects and local outreach programmes, the university actively contributes to the socioeconomic development of the region and further afield, tackling current issues and introducing positive change.

There are a number of important centres at the university, which facilitate its various research initiatives and projects. These include the Centre for Culture and Art, the Urban Social Centre Clinic and the Rio Seco Agroecology Centre.
