We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Accounting. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the School and undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students. The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes where appropriate, and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard.  Salary: Assistant Professor / Lecturer: €66,055 – €104,600 p.a. (7 points) Assistant Lecturer: €43,025 – €73,445 p.a. (14 points) Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means: Participation in research projects / research studies Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12 months. You work on your dissertation and its completion. Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement Supervision of student´s project´s and theses Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposiums Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration The research should focus on clustering methods, especially deep clustering and representation learning for complex and high-dimensional data. This is part of your personality: Bachelor's and master's degree, both in Computer Science with excellent marks. Excellent command of English Very good mathematical understanding Very good programming skills, mastery of at least two of the following programming languages: Java, C++, C#, Python Strong ability to work in teams Perseverance and ability to make things done High motivation to publish at the top-level conferences Willingness to travel, including participation in national and international conferences Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods Didactic competences / experience with e-learning Desireable knowledge: You should be a team player with high social skills Experience in eye-tracking applications for the analysis of dyslexia. Experience with clustering, representation learning, deep learning. Experience with applications of data mining methods to real data from various domains.
