Part time 0.2 FTE, 12 month fixed term, located at the Central Clinical School, Camperdown Campus, part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Research Assistant in Clinical Trials to work alongside professional and academic researchers and clinicians on Diabetes Medication Base Salary HEO 4, $83,038 p.a. - $87,739 p.a. pro-rata p.a. + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Research Assistant - Clinical Trials provides clinical trial knowledge and expertise to the Assistant Director, Senior Research Academics and the Clinical trial team within the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Diabetes Centre. They will support the preliminary stages of grant applications, maintain research data integrity, and ensure efficient communication with survey participants. They also contribute to maintaining organised research records, readying data for presentations and reports. Your key responsibilities will be to: assist with the coordination of routine research task data collection and analysis through patient follow-ups and participant questionnaires, ensuring data quality and accuracy assist with the documentation process for research publications, maintaining comprehensive research records assist with the collection and processing of physical activity data using objective activity monitors facilitate personable communication with a broad range of stakeholders, and collaborate with team members to continuously improve stakeholder relations engage with stakeholders to address concerns and gather feedback, maintaining effective communication channels and collaborating with the team to enhance stakeholder relations. About you We are seeking for an exceptional Research Assistant - Clinical Trials who has: a tertiary qualification in health, allied health, medicine and equivalent relevant experience proven computer literacy and proficiency in using various research and administrative software applications, that may include Microsoft Suite, REDCap and other relevant software excellent written and spoken communication skills to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including study participants from diverse backgrounds and physical impairments strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a focus on building inclusive and supportive work relationships, and ability to work independently clinical research skills and willingness and determination to undertake clinical training required for the role. The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands-on support for all aspects of research and research-related work, including securing funding, working with partners, undertaking knowledge exchange, demonstrating impact, commercialising outputs, ensuring good research practice and supporting professional development. This post sits within the Policy, Systems and Performance team in Research & Innovation Services (RIS). The team is responsible for the University's research information management systems, the overall governance and ethical framework for both funded and unfunded research & research related activities across the institution, support for institutional strategy development and the compilation of relevant returns including HEBCI, KEF, KEC and REF, as well as management information reporting relating to university research and knowledge exchange (RKE) activities. As Research Systems and Information Officer you will contribute to the implementation and development of the RIS RKE systems as well as training and communications about these systems across the University. Current research systems include Worktribe Research Management, Infonetica Ethics RM, and Dynamics CRM. You will contribute to ensuring our research systems are configured in the most optimal and user-friendly way and that any associated training and communications will be delivered in a clear, concise and timely manner. Description The Water Research Center (WRC) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Scientist to work on advanced membrane technologies for desalination. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Raed Hashaikeh. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on functional membrane development at both bench and pilot scales. This research is conducted within the Water Research Center (WRC) at NYUAD and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams across mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, and physics. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and will contribute to projects spanning fundamental materials development to applied pilot-scale systems. Responsibilities of the position include conducting experimental and/or analytical research on membrane-based desalination technologies (e.g., reverse osmosis, forward osmosis, nanofiltration, membrane distillation), developing novel functional materials, designing and executing lab and field studies, analyzing and interpreting data, contributing to publications and patents, and presenting research findings at meetings and conferences. The candidate will also collaborate with local and international research partners and may participate in limited teaching or mentoring activities. Candidate Qualification and Experience Requirements Candidates must hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in their field (not including the years obtaining the PhD). The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record, including first-author papers, and demonstrated experience in membrane fabrication and characterization. Familiarity with analytical techniques such as XRD, TGA, DSC, DMA, BET, and porometry is highly desirable. Background in analytical or organic chemistry is an asset. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
