Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 2006 in Coimbatore, India. The institute is affiliated with Anna University in Chennai. Sri Shakthi offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level courses across its 12 departments: agricultural engineering; biomedical engineering; biotechnology; civil engineering; computer science and engineering; electrical and electronics engineering; electronics and communication engineering; food technology; information technology; mechanical engineering; science and humanities and physical education. Students have access to a range of learning facilities on campus, such as the aero-cut section, 3D printer, surveying station, wind turbine lab, load testing facility, tractor-cut section, aeronautical lab, hydraulics lab, and fully functional aircraft. The institute understands the importance of practical learning, which it achieves through these facilities, as well as educational visits. The institute prides itself on its eco-friendly campus, with 300kw solar power. The campus also has a ballroom, state of the art classrooms, a library, computer lab, and food court for students to enjoy. Extending their understanding of the importance of physical learning, the institute emphasises a large focus on sporting activities to teach students valuable lessons such as handling success and failure, respect and teamwork. There is a cricket ground, basketball court, badminton court, swimming pool, athletics facility, hockey and football pitches. The Sri Shakthi Institute has an Entrepreneurship Development Cell, helping students to transform innovative ideas into successful business models. The cell conducts workshops, seminars, industrial visits, business plan competitions, and guest talks to inspire and educate budding entrepreneurs. Student life is diverse and lively on campus, with a variety of student clubs and associations: media guild, women empowerment, rotaract club, socio-eco club and many others. Coimbatore is the second largest city in the state of Tamil Nadu, after Chennai. It is a hub for manufacturing, education and healthcare. It is known for its extensive cotton industry, gaining it the nickname the “Manchester of South India”. Popular sites include the Hindu Temple, Maruthamalai Arulmigu Subramanya Swami, as and the Shiva statue.

About the area The UWA School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing combine Departments with strong identities and histories going back to the beginnings of UWA. Research and education in the School spans these departments to make advances in both theoretical and applied domains, including the development of new models, data analyses, and software to solve pressing real-world problems. About the opportunity Develop and apply advanced mathematical, computational and statistical models for infectious diseases (e.g., COVID-19, influenza, RSV), drive epidemic forecasting and analytics in Western Australia, secure competitive funding, publish in leading journals, and build national and international collaborations. Lead curriculum development and coordination of Infectious Disease Modelling, contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and supervise and mentor Honours, Master’s, PhD students and early-career researchers to build modelling capacity in WA. Support the Chair in establishing an internationally recognised research program, foster interdisciplinary partnerships (including with The Kids Research Institute Australia and ACEFA), engage with community and industry stakeholders, uphold University governance and inclusion commitments, and contribute to service, IP management and research translation. Have a degree in Food Science and Technology, Engineering or Science is a bonus. Some analytical work experience for texture analysis, food formulation and characterization, or publication is a bonus Detail-oriented person, able to communicate with industrial collaborators to share key findings, seek supports, or conduct commercial trials. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
