Founded in 1901, SWOSU is a liberal arts institution in Oklahoma with campuses in the locations of Weatherford and Sayre. The university carries a reputation for academic quality with fourteen nationally accredited programmes, more than any other institution in the state.
The College of Arts and Sciences contains 7 departments offering 22 minors and 31 majors. In the Language Department a course is offered in English with a focus on literature and creative writing, and in Spanish with a focus on language skills and learning about Hispanic life and culture.
Established in 1939, the College of Pharmacy offers a doctoral programme contingent on a student receiving two years of pre-professional study. At the college a course can be combined with an MBA to give students an expert understanding of both pharmaceutical knowledge and its application in a business environment.
Since 1991 the Panorama series has been dedicated to bringing renowned performers in comedy and the arts to Weatherford campus. Previous years have seen the likes of comedian Mike Birbiglia, street dancers The Gentlemen of Hip-Hop, and the Peking Acrobats.
Athletics teams at SWOSU are known as the Bulldogs, and compete in the NCAA Division II. There are a total of thirteen sports programmes, including rodeo, golf, and women’s soccer. The American football teams plays at Milam Stadium, which can host up to 8,600 spectators.
Alumni of SWOSU include Congressman Bill Brewster and Glenn English, coach of the Buffalo Bills NFL team Rex Ryan, and John Aaron, a NASA engineer who played a key role in the Apollo 13 recovery mission.

As the WA node of Plant SynBio Australia under Bioplatforms Australia and the NCRIS program, PSIC will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research capabilities in plant synthetic biology, and agricultural biotechnology. The facility houses state-of-the-art molecular biology infrastructure and operates in collaboration with national PSBA nodes at ANU, La Trobe University, and Adelaide University. As the WA node, the PSIC is responsible for discovering, developing, and delivering plant synthetic biology componentry, technologies, datasets, and high throughput testing capabilities. PSIC’s activities span high-resolution plant cell atlas generation, regulatory network and genomic ‘parts’ discovery, development of high-throughput upstream screening pipelines to rapidly assess Synbio constructs and components, and implementation of molecular tools for both fundamental research and applied crop-engineering programs. This position will be based in the Bayliss Building on UWA’s Crawley campus, working closely with research, industry, and government partners to develop and deliver cutting-edge plant synbio technologies and services. About the opportunity Lead plant cell atlas generation, regulatory element discovery, engineered plant characterisation, and high-throughput screening of synthetic-biology constructs. Develop, optimise, and implement workflows for single-cell regulatory genomics assays, and high-throughput construct activity screening pipelines. Support collaborative projects, engage with external users, and establish scalable, reproducible methods and datasets that can be applied across the PSBA network. About you PhD in molecular biology, genomics, synthetic biology, computational biology, or a closely related field, with demonstrated research experience relevant to single-cell profiling, regulatory genomics analysis, or high-throughput screening. Hands-on experience with experimental workflows such as single-cell or single-nucleus sequencing (snRNA-seq, snATAC-seq), protoplast-based transient assays, or high-throughput reporter/construct screening systems. Competence in computational analysis of large-scale genomic datasets, including proficiency in relevant programming or scripting languages and familiarity with standard workflows for single cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, or similar data types. Demonstrated ability to develop, optimise and troubleshoot experimental and computational methods, and to document workflows clearly and reproducibly. About you The Department of War Studies has a large and diverse faculty, with varied theoretical and methodological expertise in areas including, but not limited to, conflict resolution, contemporary and historical warfare, gender, international relations, migration and borders, security studies, strategic studies, technology and violence. The Department is located within the School of Security Studies and the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. About the role The Department of War Studies seeks to appoint a Lecturer in International Relations Education to contribute to the Department’s capacity for teaching and scholarship in international relations. The post is on the Academic Education Pathway (AEP) and focuses on the delivery of education, education-related scholarship, and leadership in education. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the Department of War Studies, especially its BA and MA programmes in International Relations.
