Southern Luzon State University is a state university in the Philippines, officially established in 2007. Its creation transformed the former Southern Luzon Polytechnic College, based in Lucban, Quezon, along with its various satellite campuses, into Southern Luzon State University, with Lucban designated as its main campus.
The university’s mission is to provide advanced education, training, and professional instruction across fields such as allied medicine, engineering, agriculture, forestry, environment, arts and sciences, accountancy, business, and technology. It also contributes to vital research and extension services in the Calabarzon region.
The university is located in Lucban, a city in the Quezon Province, one of the largest provinces in the country.
Since it opened, SLSU has grown significantly, establishing campuses not just in Lucban but across Quezon Province, including Lucena City, Sampaloc, Infanta, Polillo, Tagkawayan, Alabat, Tiaong, Gumaca, and Tayabas.
Academically the university hosts a range of colleges including agriculture, allied medicine, arts and aciences, administration, business, hospitality and accountancy, engineering, industrial technology, and teacher education. Within each college are different departments which offer a range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level.
Committed to serving its communities, the university has a strong culture of research and extension, backed by an Office of Research and Services and an Office of Extension Services, delivering projects that support local development and innovation.
