Described as the school of global education and exchange, Soonchunhyang University has a welcoming ethos that offers education to students from around the world. The main language of instruction is Korean, however some 30 courses are conducted in English. The core faculties include literature, business, politics, sociology, education and medical science. The library is open 24 hours and seven days a week during every semester which allows students to access a wide range of information and materials whenever needed. Aside from strong academic values, Soonchunhyang University has a campus bursting with life. The modern and well-equipped dormitories can house up to six people (of the same gender). The majority of students are able to stay within the dormitories and both Korean and international students are mixed together. Student life consists of a wide range of clubs, social occasions and sports teams that all students can participate in. With such a diverse mix of students, they aim to enrich the student’s experience beyond the lecture theatres. Clubs include a range of musical, amateur dramatics and sports clubs. One notable alumni would be Jeon No-min who went on to become a successful actor after performing on stage at Soonchunhyang University. Many of his roles have been within TV, but has also appeared in a handful of films and variety shows. For international students, living in South Korea there is a readily available transport system, a wide range of shops and the most advanced technology. South Korea also boasts a vast ancient and modern culture.

Faculty of Medicine The Faculty of Medicine will be established through the integration and expansion of the existing Faculty of Health Sciences. The new faculty aims to develop into a world-class medical school that integrates top-tier medical talent cultivation, advanced medical services, and innovative medical research. In addition to the existing Department of Biomedical Sciences, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (to be renamed as the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences), and Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration, it will establish the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Department of Medicinal Food and Nutrition Sciences, and the Department of Dentistry. In order to deliver on the University's ambitious strategic plan, we are seeking academics and professionals who are passionate about improving health outcomes and/or health equity in the local, national and global communities, who are committed to research, and are team players, ready to contribute across the broad field of academic activities. The University is seeking to employ a Research Fellow (Level B) to join the team of Prof. Steve Kamper and team in MMFF funded medical research study - Pain Smart. The aim of the study is to estimate the effect of a pain education module plus (for those reporting significant musculoskeletal pain) or individualised support to students attending secondary schools. This is a study led by a team from the University of Sydney and is a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) supported by the Australian Government. Prof. Kamper and team have developed a pain education module and tailored biopsychosocial care for those who experience significant musculoskeletal pain.
