The School of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary research program in functional biomaterials and tissue engineering at the University of Sydney. The successful candidate will undertake research at the interface of biomaterials engineering, regenerative medicine, advanced 3D printing and mechanobiology, under the supervision of Professor Hala Zreiqat. This hands-on role offers substantial intellectual freedom and provides an opportunity to lead research in biomimetic and translational tissue engineering. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development of biomimetic gradient scaffold technologies, including electrochemical molecular-lock strategies for constructing multi-scale gradient interfaces, soft tissue regeneration using established in vivo models for muscle and tendon repair, and the creation of integrated bone-tendon-muscle regeneration systems and advanced regenerative microenvironments. The role also offers opportunities for student supervision, industry engagement, grant development and the initiation of new research directions. Key responsibilities include: conducting high-quality research, independently and collaboratively, to advance bone-tendon-muscle interface regeneration designing and fabricating gradient scaffold technologies and models relevant to aged or diseased tissues characterising biomaterials using advanced imaging, biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques publishing research outcomes in leading international journals preparing competitive grant applications presenting research findings at national and international conferences supervising and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students engaging proactively with industry and clinical partners to support translational research complying with and promoting the University's health, safety and ethical standards. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals by creating innovative, nutritious, and visually appealing food products that cater to their specific dietary needs. We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Food Product Developer to join our research team under the DIGNIFIED programme. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science, product development, and research methodologies. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop new food products, improve existing ones, and ensure they meet the programme’s mission. Key responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Conduct research and development activities to create innovative food products that align with the DIGNIFIED programme's goals. Mentor and guide junior research engineers in industry projects Develop prototypes and formulations for new/existing food products, ensuring they meet nutritional, sensory, and safety standards. Plan and conduct product scale up trials and shelf-life studies Source and evaluate new ingredients and suppliers Stay updated with the latest advancements in food science and technology and apply this knowledge to the development process. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation of research findings and product development processes. Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project planning activities. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. A Masters/Ph.D. in food science and food technology would be advantageous At least 3-5 years of proven experience in food product development and research, preferably within a similar programme or industry. Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and sensory evaluation techniques. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and food processing. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Passion for food product innovation and improving elderly nutrition. Bonus: Culinary skills and experience in product renovation and innovation. Description The Robot Learning & Control Lab (REAL Lab) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking an outstanding Post-Doctoral Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research in robot intelligence, machine learning, and AI-driven manipulation. This position offers the opportunity to work on real-world robotic systems and develop novel algorithms at the intersection of robot learning, control, and AI for physical systems. The postdoc will work on projects focusing on one or more of the following: Robot Learning & Autonomy – Developing algorithms that allow robots to learn (via exploration or imitation) from interaction, adapt to new tasks, and generalize across environments. Dexterous Manipulation – Advancing robotic grasping, in-hand manipulation, and adaptable object handling in complex real-world scenarios, including those involving deformable objects and uncertain conditions.. Semantic Navigation & Mapping – Designing solutions for robot navigation, for Mobile Manipulators, that integrate environmental semantics and spatial reasoning. AI for Physical Systems – Leveraging machine learning and AI to improve performance, safety, and adaptability of robots, autonomous vehicles, and other intelligent machines.
