About the Role As we kick-start the 2026 academic year in our brand new iconic, state of the art Healthcare Simulation Laboratories located in the convenient Adelaide CBD, we have multiple exciting and continuing Technical Officer positions available. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a healthcare background such as in Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology, and who is passionate about supporting students a real-life simulation environment. The role is based in a modern clinical skills simulation lab, essential for delivering practical workshops and ensures the lab is prepared according to course needs and supports teaching by providing technical advice, equipment demonstrations, and procedural guidance. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment, managing stock control, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. The role requires liaising with the Senior Manager, Healthcare Simulation, and broader team. Additional duties include stepping in for the Team Leader or Laboratory Manager when needed, training staff on simulation equipment, resolving IT and AV issues promptly, and maintaining accurate records of simulation software, licences, and equipment updates to ensure optimal functionality and minimal disruption to learning. During intensives, the incumbent will be expected to work a variety of shifts within a set roster, ranging from 7:30am – 3:30pm, 8:00am – 4pm and 12:30 – 8:30pm, with the occasional shift ending at 10:00pm. About You You are experienced in working with new and emerging simulation technologies and your ability to use initiative highlight your enhanced problem-solving skills whilst prioritising competing deadlines. With excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, you build and maintain effective collegial relationships at all levels within the organisation and with external stakeholders and customers alike. You are an effective leader and are comfortable with the supervision of staff and are equally comfortable working autonomously or as part of a team. You also possess: Qualification in Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and training relevant to the position. Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, including management of hazardous substances. A high level of attention to detail and organisational skills, with a willingness to work flexibly. Job Description FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY With offers of BSc (Hons) in Biochemical and Testing Sciences, MSc in Analytical Chemistry, MPhil (by research), and PhD degrees, the Department presently has around 140 undergraduate students, 70 taught postgraduate students and 100 research students and project staff. The Department places a strong emphasis on both quality education and scholarly research/services, and has reached a significant milestone where its educational programmes are not only innovative but also accessible, and its major areas of research strength are well recognised and supported. It is now inviting applications for the position of: Research Assistant Professor (25260280) The appointee will work closely with an established research group in the Department to conduct high-quality research and showcase original and profound research accomplishments that have the potential to elevate them to international scientific leadership in chemical science. Additionally, the appointee will help co-supervise MPhil and PhD students, establish a cutting-edge research programme in computational chemistry and machine learning, and engage in various scholarly activities, including securing research funding and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Applicants must possess a PhD degree and postdoctoral experience in organic chemistry, computational chemistry or a closely related field from a reputable university/institution. They should have strong research experience in the theoretical and computational studies for catalysis and synthetic methodolgy, and an impressive publication record in peer-reviewed international journals. Prior teaching experience and a proven ability to mentor students are highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with prior faculty-level experience.
