The strong cohort of local and international students benefits from a viola faculty that includes leading pedagogues Roger Benedict and Stuart Johnson, and a vibrant string faculty that is the largest in Australia. The Sydney Conservatorium is now looking for an outstanding viola player and pedagogue to join the faculty and contribute to the culture of excellence that currently exists within the institution. The successful candidate will be an insightful and inspiring musician with substantial performing and teaching experience at an international level, and someone who is able to work collaboratively and imaginatively to ensure the institution remains a beacon of music education in Australia. In addition to giving individual lessons, duties will include sharing responsibility for leading a weekly viola class and also chamber music coaching and/or orchestral training. Your key responsibilities will be to: plan, foster and develop the training of violists at the University and develop performance curriculum in close cooperation with faculty members within the University contribute importantly to professional practice and/or research outcomes in the area of viola performance contribute to teaching and training in chamber music, orchestra studies and string pedagogy build an inspiring learning and working environment for the students and teachers of viola performance inspire young students including pre-tertiary music students, community teachers and orchestras and support the development of viola teaching in community and outreach programs contribute to the development of international student recruitment. About you Demonstrated excellence in viola performance and viola teaching High level skills in engagement with audiences and the musical community Demonstrated experience in viola teaching at university level with an ability to teach at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels, communicating inspiring musical artistry and thoughtful pedagogical methods Demonstrated experience in working with students in chamber, orchestral, and other ensemble settings An artistic vision as well as extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in the field Acknowledged high-level international experience as an artist and/or researcher and a strong reputation for teaching Constructive and collaborative assessment and feedback skills Evidence of successful collaborations and international networks. Job Description SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE CENTRE FOR CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE DRUG DEVELOPMENT Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Senior Research Assistant in clinical research (25260249) The applicant is expected to manage clinical study in the areas of Chinese medicine, biomedical sciences or related disciplines. Responsibilities: Responsible for planning and leading the delivery of all components of a clinical study to time, cost, and quality from protocol development, study start-up through closeout activities and clinical study report; Clinical study subject recruitment and data monitoring; Leading and managing multi-functional project team; Being the primary point of contact for the assigned project; and Undertake any other duties assigned. Requirements: A Ph.D. or postgraduate degree with at least 5 years of clinical research, or at least 2 years recent clinical research experience in the capacity of project manager/equivalent (clinical study team lead, clinical study manager, etc.); Holding or qualifying to apply for a Chinese Medicine Practices license; Experience managing randomised controlled trials in therapeutic research for Gastrointestinal diseases is preferred; Experience with ICH-GCP guidelines and understandings on pharmaceutical product development is an advantage; Should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, as well as good interpersonal and organisational skills; Should be responsible, attentive to details and able to work independently; and Innovative, self-motivated with good planning and organisational skills are essential. Those with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for the post of Senior Research Assistant. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 1 year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance and availability of funding. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
