Shantou University (STU), founded in 1981 with the approval of the State Council, is a key comprehensive university under the jurisdiction of the Guangdong Province and co-developed by the Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Provincial Government and the Li Ka-Shing Foundation. Shantou University receives generous support from the distinguished philanthropist and international entrepreneur Li Ka-shing. The Li Ka-Shing Foundation has committed a total of more than HK$7.2 billion to support Shantou University. STU has nine colleges and schools, including the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Science, the College of Engineering, the Medical College, the Law School, the Business School, the Cheung Kong School of Art and Design, the Cheung Kong School of Journalism and Communication, the Graduate School, the School of Continuing Education and Veritas College. STU enrols undergraduates, graduates and doctors from across the country (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan). The Medical College of STU has five affiliated hospitals, making up more than half the medical services in the local community.

The School of Health Sciences is seeking a Lecturer B / Senior Lecturer with professional registration (GPhC, NMC or HCPC) to lead a research portfolio that is supported by external funding and evidenced by high quality publications and societal impact whilst contributing to the teaching of aspects of their specialised area within health sciences and of related subjects, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the supervision of doctoral level research. This is a permanent, full-time post based in Guildford with possible hybrid working. Appointments will be offered at Lecturer B or Senior Lecturer level depending on experience (see job profiles below for more information). The salary range for a Lecturer B starts from £47,389, and for a Senior Lecturer from £58,225. The School of Health Sciences The University of Surrey is a centre of excellence for Health Sciences with considerable recent investment in state-of-the-art facilities such as our newly built simulation centre and health technology accelerator facility. The School of Health Sciences is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and is a leading provider of undergraduate education in nursing, midwifery, operating department practice, and paramedic practice and is in the top 10 in the UK for research following the recent Research Excellence Framework assessment. In addition to this, we have been awarded Gold for our Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).  The School has an extensive portfolio of postgraduate and continuing professional development courses, research and consultancy, along with excellent links with local health care providers which enables valuable research and practice development projects. The successful candidate will be an insightful and inspiring musician with substantial performing and teaching experience at an international level, and someone who is able to work collaboratively and imaginatively to ensure the institution remains a beacon of music education in Australia. Job Description SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE CENTRE FOR CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE DRUG DEVELOPMENT Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Senior Research Assistant in clinical research (25260249) The applicant is expected to manage clinical study in the areas of Chinese medicine, biomedical sciences or related disciplines. Responsibilities: Responsible for planning and leading the delivery of all components of a clinical study to time, cost, and quality from protocol development, study start-up through closeout activities and clinical study report; Clinical study subject recruitment and data monitoring; Leading and managing multi-functional project team; Being the primary point of contact for the assigned project; and Undertake any other duties assigned. Requirements: A Ph.D. or postgraduate degree with at least 5 years of clinical research, or at least 2 years recent clinical research experience in the capacity of project manager/equivalent (clinical study team lead, clinical study manager, etc.); Holding or qualifying to apply for a Chinese Medicine Practices license; Experience managing randomised controlled trials in therapeutic research for Gastrointestinal diseases is preferred; Experience with ICH-GCP guidelines and understandings on pharmaceutical product development is an advantage; Should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, as well as good interpersonal and organisational skills; Should be responsible, attentive to details and able to work independently; and Innovative, self-motivated with good planning and organisational skills are essential. Those with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for the post of Senior Research Assistant. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 1 year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance and availability of funding. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Job Description SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE Research Assistant Professor (25260263) Applications are invited for the following posts in the Research Centre for Herb Polysaccharides and Intestinal Immunology, which is in the HKBU school of Chinese medicine: Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is establishing the Research Centre for Herb Polysaccharides and Intestinal Immunology, aimed at exploring the medicinal potential of herb polysaccharides and their applications in promoting health. We invite passionate individuals with relevant backgrounds to join our team and collaborate in advancing research and application of herb polysaccharides. Responsibilities: Participate in research on the chemistry, intestinal immunology, and mechanisms of action of herb polysaccharides; Conduct research and development on new drugs and oral vaccines, exploring the potential of lymph-targeted therapies; Collaborate closely with industry and academic partners to translate research findings into practical applications; and Write research papers, reports, and grant applications. Requirements: A Ph.D. degree in Biology, Pharmacy, Immunology, Natural Medicinal Chemistry or related fields; Research experience in one of the areas including immunology, gut microbiome, cell biology, and/or molecular biology is desirable; Strong laboratory skills and research capabilities, with the ability to conduct independent experiments; and Team-oriented, with excellent communication skills and proficiency in English writing. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to three years. The salary offered is highly competitive.
