Shahroud University of Medical Sciences

Shahroud University of Medical Sciences is located in Shahrud, in northern Iran.
SHMU can trace its roots back to 1971. It became a College of Nursing and Midwifery in 1992 before attaining its current name and status in 2007.
It remains a small institution with fewer than 2,000 students spread across departments of nursing and midwifery, health sciences, medicine, pharmacy, rehabilitation science, nutrition science and dentistry. Persian is the language of the bulk of provision, but the six-year MBBS and the four-year nursing degree are also offered in English. It also has links to numerous hospitals and health networks in Shahrud and neighbouring parts of Semnan province. 
A significant element in the international component is a partnership with Imperial College, London while the main domestic collaborators are the Semnan and Shahid Sadghi universities of Medical Science.

Your future position:

As a predoc university assistant, you will join the team of Prof. Dr. Lena Foljanty, Chair for Globalisation and Legal Pluralism, at the Department of Legal and Constitutional History. The chair’s research deals with globalisation processes in law from a historical perspective. We are particularly interested in PhD projects on colonial and decolonial processes, colonial epistemologies, transculturality, and critical examinations of Eurocentric historiography. Projects that bridge the gap between historical and current challenges are also welcome, provided that they include a legal history aspect.

The position

The professorship will focus on language acquisition in the Romance languages (L1, L2, foreign language acquisition, multilingualism) both in research and teaching. We expect a PhD in this field of research covering at least one of the three languages French, Italian and Spanish. The candidate should have experience and competences that cover both language acquisition theories and empirical methods of language acquisition research.

The position

The Max Perutz Labs, one of Europe’s leading institutes for basic research in the life sciences, invites applications for a tenure-track group leader position. We are seeking exceptional candidates who will contribute in creative ways to the institute’s mission to analyse and reconstitute complex biological systems across different scales. We are particularly interested in researchers investigating the molecular and biophysical mechanisms underlying genome function and regulation.
