Founded in 1990, Shahed University is one of the youngest universities in Iran which has grown considerably since then. The university’s youth provides flexibility to pursue novel ways of looking at education and research.

In 2003, the university launched its main campus in southern Tehran to centralize all of the faculties in a large well-organized site. (Which makes Shahed University the closest university to the IKA International Airport).

Offering a wide range of courses on campus, Shahed University is one of Iran’s leading multidisciplinary universities which educates over 6,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The university offers 80 majors in eight faculties: Agricultural Sciences, Arts, Basic Sciences, Dentistry, Engineering, Humanities, Medicine, and Nursing and Midwifery.

Having nine research centers in Tehran, Shahed University pursues cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research. Researchers at Shahed University carry out world-class, cutting-edge research alongside seeking to add value to the society.

The Mostafa Khomeini Hospital and the Shahid Montazeri Dental Center provide a variety of health and medical services to the public. They operate under the supervision of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry respectively.

The Startup Incubator of Shahed University has been in operation since 2015 and has supported over 30 startup ventures ranging from the healthcare to agriculture and data science domains.

One the main strength of Shahed University is promoting its students through building capacities in them for both expertise and morality.

Information about the Department can be obtained at http://www.eee.hku.hk  The Position We now invite application for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Duties and Responsibilities We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas (but not limited to): Analog, mixed-signal, and RF integrated circuits Low power digital circuit and high-speed circuit design Emerging circuit technologies, including 3D ICs, heterogeneous integration and advanced circuit packaging Circuits design for artificial intelligence, power management IC, and quantum applications Interdisciplinary scholars with a vision for connecting IC design with device technology, system architecture, or AI hardware are particularly encouraged to apply. The appointees will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to integrated circuit and system design, analog/mixed-signal and digital ICs, semiconductor device fundamentals, electronic design automation, and emerging hardware systems, among others. They will also supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research and knowledge exchange, undertake school practicum supervision, and assume service/administrative responsibilities as appropriate. Those appointed at Associate Professor level will also be expected to lead collaborative and interdisciplinary initiatives in research and knowledge exchange, mentor and nurture the next generation of scholars and researchers, and assume high-level service/administrative responsibilities. Requirements Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a closely related field, with a strong commitment to research and teaching, a solid track record in or strong potential for research, scholarly publications, and competitive external funding. What We Offer The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years initially, to commence as soon as possible thereafter, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms, subject to the University’s approval. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and professional leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. The successful candidate may also be invited to join the Centre for Advanced Semiconductors and Integrated Circuits, a newly established interdisciplinary research center at HKU that advances Hong Kong’s strategic development in microelectronics and semiconductor technologies. Duration and Requirements of the Fellowship The duration of the Fellowship will normally be three years. Description The SHORES Center at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in the area of Digital Twins and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Smart Infrastructure Management Systems to work under the supervision of Professor Borja García de Soto, director of the S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group and Co-PI in the SHORES Center. The successful candidate will also collaborate with researchers and other Investigators from the SHORES Center on project related to the advancement of multidisciplinary research supporting the digitalization of the built environment. The selected researcher will expand the current research in the area of AI- and ML-powered digital twin frameworks for civil, energy, and built-environment infrastructure. These frameworks integrate IoT-enabled sensing and real-time analytics to support continuous monitoring, data-driven evaluation, and predictive maintenance. The work also address user comfort and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) as key dimensions of infrastructure performance. This research forms part of a broader effort to design smart, adaptive, and resilient Infrastructure Management Systems that leverage digitalization, automation, and intelligent decision-making. Key Responsibilities include conduct cutting-edge research on the integration of Digital Twins with AI/ML technologies for infrastructure lifecycle management. Develop and validate computational models for monitoring and predicting infrastructure performance. Collaborate with faculty and researchers across SHORES. Disseminate research findings through high-impact publications and conference presentations. Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in related projects. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with a focus on Digital Twins, AI, ML, or smart infrastructure systems. Strong background in computational modeling, data analytics, and/or automation in construction or infrastructure management. Demonstrated research excellence through peer-reviewed publications. Experience with programming languages and software platforms relevant to Digital Twin development (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Revit, Unity, or IoT frameworks).
