Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) now invites candidates for this position which is expected to be filled in Sep 2026: Job Description The appointees will be expected to conduct high-quality research and contribute to the development of Transdisciplinary Digital Humanities within the Department of Languages and Cultures. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English, developing innovative curricula that integrate digital technologies with humanities methodologies, supervising student research and final year projects, and participating in interdisciplinary collaboration within the University and with external partners. The successful candidate is also expected to engage in scholarly publication, external grant applications, and academic service activities that support the strategic development of the Department and the University. Job Requirement Applicants should possess a PhD in Digital Humanities, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, AI and Humanities, Digital Media, Cultural Studies, or a related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate a strong record of research and publication appropriate to the rank applied for, as well as evidence of effective teaching in English at the university level. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in areas such as Digital Humanities, AI and the Humanities, Digital Pedagogy, Corpus Linguistics, Text Analytics, Language Technologies, Cultural Analytics, Digital Storytelling, or related interdisciplinary fields. The successful candidate should also demonstrate strong communication skills, experience in interdisciplinary collaboration, and the ability to contribute to an international academic environment. Benefits and Appointment Terms Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. The Role and the Department This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of the University's Strategic Reporting and Business Intelligence capabilities . You will be responsible for the Institutional Business Intelligence programme of work - leading the delivery of the key strategic analytical outputs related to the University's strategic performance and planning imperatives. Central to this will be the ongoing development of integrated performance dashboards and continued work on the development of the University's Management Information Hub. Your work will consider further development of the data lake for key data sources across different areas, as well as delivery of strategic reporting relating to those, expanding our core strategic PowerBI dashboard provision. The postholder will have a significant role in providing insights and evidence for assessing performance and meaningful planning, including key performance indicators and competitive positioning. The postholder will also have a lead role in taking forward the University's Data Strategy, liaising with senior leaders and stakeholders in a range of areas to ensure agility and progress with implementation. You will be responsible for the BI section in the Strategy, Planning & Insight Office, leading the team to deliver significant change and improvement in our strategic reporting and analytics, data lake resources, data dashboard reporting, data governance, data quality, data literacy and culture.
