Originally established as the ITC Institute of Technology and Commerce in 1970, EHEC Algiers has undergone major transformations in the current century. Previously a provider of qualifications for commercial-management executives and senior trade inspectors, it became an Ecole Superieure in 2008 and took its current name in 2009. Since 2011, it has offered a master’s in business science, following the five-year model that Algeria inherited from France. Students do two years of preparatory work. If successful in a competitive examination, they then move into a second cycle, studying a common core in the third year, followed by specialisms in the fourth and fifth years. Current options for specialisation are international business, marketing, international supply-chain management, finance and accounting, and management and entrepreneurship. EHEC Algiers also offers doctoral programmes, and currently has more than 250 students registered for these. Since 2011, it has hosted two national research laboratories, MARKETIC for marketing and ICT and PERMANAN for management, performance and innovation. Entry is highly competitive. The minimum Baccalaureate score for the preparatory section is 14.75, while only 60 out of 399 applicants were accepted for the second cycle in 2023. Previously based in Algiers, in 2014 EHEC moved to a purpose-built campus at Kolea, about 15 miles outside the capital. It shares this site with the schools of business (ESC), management (ENSM) and statistics and applied economics (ENSSEA). In January 2023, new offices were opened for each of the schools. There are plans to ensure sustainability through effective waste and water management.

Research fellow in dementia research This is an excellent opportunity for a postgraduate candidate with strong research and organisational skills to develop their expertise in dementia research. Applications are invited from enthusiastic early stage researchers to join the research team based at Clinical Neuroscience within the Faculty of Medicine, collaborating closely with NHS clinicians in dementia services. The research focuses on cognitive and neuroimaging changes in preclinical, prodromal and clinical dementia. It will be supervised by Professor Michael Hornberger within Clinical Neuroscience, Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine. The role involves assisting Professor Hornberger to develop clinical and research protocols within the dementia research group; interfacing with other services in NHS and University; writing research protocols and submitting these for relevant ethical approvals including NHS studies; and assisting in data collection. In addition, they will coordinate dementia research studies including the conducting of rating scales, taking research consent, and doing cognitive tests. The successful candidate will support Professor Hornberger in the administration of intervention studies, ensuring research meets good clinical practice and regulatory standards. The role We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Officer to lead the delivery of our newly awarded GREENIN Micro Network Plus project. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in expanding the network's reach, shaping its strategic activities, and coordinating its execution. You will also contribute to the wider research ambitions of the University of Surrey’s renowned Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE). GREENIN (Greening the Indoors: transformation of indoor environments in a changing climate) is a collaborative grant led by GCARE in partnership with the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and the universities of Bath, Oxford, York, and Cranfield. GREENIN will build a community of practice, which will assess the effectiveness of plants in purifying air, regulating temperature, and controlling humidity indoors whilst examining how building design, construction materials, and human activity influence their impact. You will lead the end-to-end delivery and management of the GREENIN project. Leveraging a solid project management background and a proactive mindset, you will collaborate with co-leads, funders, GCARE collaborators and stakeholders to provide timely solutions and manage information accurately under often tight deadlines. This is a part-time, on-site role based at the University of Surrey, requiring daily attendance. The fixed-term contract will run until 5th October 2027, with potential for extension in both contract length and daily hours with mutual agreement.
