2 x full time, continuing positions, located on the Camperdown Campus in the Faculty of Science Build your research and apply your expertise by contributing as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor to the School of History and Philosophy of Science Academic Level B/C/D, Base Salary $127,436 - $207,069 p.a. + 17% superannuation About the position The School of History and Philosophy of Science is seeking to fill two full-time academic positions at the level of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in History and Philosophy of Science, to join the School's vibrant research and teaching community. We are particularly interested in candidates working in the areas of early modern science, or science or medicine in Asia, or Indigenous knowledge systems. Successful candidates will dedicate 40% of their contribution to teaching-related activities, 40% to research-related activities, and 20% to governance, leadership, and engagement. Your key responsibilities will be to: contribute to the School's research activities, expertise, and impact design, coordinate, and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses provide mentoring and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students contribute to teaching and learning practice, design and evaluation within the School and Faculty engage in leadership and service roles across the School and Faculty maintain quality, integrity and excellence in all research activities and outputs. We see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in History and Philosophy of Science who has: a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science or related fields including STS, History, Philosophy, Asian Studies, Indigenous Studies an excellent research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research (relative to opportunity) teaching experience including course design, coordination, delivery, and assessment the capacity to engage students and enable a supportive, inclusive learning environment experience supervising students at Honours, Masters and PhD level (relative to opportunity) excellent interpersonal skills and collegial behaviour of a very high standard. Experience in translational research in neurodegeneration, cancer, or rare genetic diseases will be considered a plus. We are now looking for a permanent Regional Manager to join the team. Based in the International Relations Directorate, reporting to the Head of International Recruitment within the portfolio of External Engagement and Partnerships, the Regional Manager is responsible for taking the lead on delivering international recruitment objectives for a portfolio of country markets in line with the University’s wider international strategy. The primary countries of responsibility will be confirmed upon appointment but will be within the Gulf and Africa (outside of Nigeria). Market responsibilities can change from time to time in line with university priorities. The responsibilities include building effective relationships with external stakeholders to develop market activity and achieve specific international objectives; offering expertise and providing market intelligence which supports the development of international activity within the university; identifying and where appropriate capitalising on opportunities for the university to take forward its international strategy; and representing the University overseas. You will have significant experience of working effectively within international student recruitment within a UK University setting; demonstrable experience of formulating and implementing international recruitment plans; demonstrable and significant understanding of national and international educational developments and their impact on HE and the international student recruitment environment; significant experience and knowledge in overseas education systems and qualifications; numerate with prior experience of gathering and interpreting data and using statistical analysis to inform decision making; experience of managing budgets; experience of working in a target setting environment and a track record of meeting targets. You will be required to spend considerable time overseas each year.
