Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in the disciplines of Virology and Biological Sciences and have a strong interest in working closely with virologists and clinicians. They are expected to be highly motivated and come up with independent lines of research enquiry. Previous experience in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage: a) developing and working with infectious clones, tissue culture or primary cell culture models, b) ability to work with infectious small animals, c) omic-science, or d) microbial bioinformatics as applied to clinical research. The appointee will conduct research projects related to emerging agents of hepatitis (such as rat hepatitis E virus) under the supervision of Dr. Siddharth Sridhar in a leading clinical-translational emerging viral hepatitis research laboratory.
