Sanjeev Agrawal Global Educational University (SAGE University Bhopal) is a private university located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established in 2019, under the development of the SAGE Group of educational institutions. About the Role

Join the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA) Research Team and contribute to the impactful research led by the internationally recognised Centre that works as a catalyst for change in the alcohol and other drugs field. Working closely as part of the wider Research Team, the Centre Director and government stakeholders, you will have the opportunity to support a variety of research activities imbedded in diverse projects.

	Assisting in capturing and sharing project outcomes and organisational Key Performance Indicators.
	Assisting with research ethics applications, grant applications and literature reviews.

	Assisting with qualitative and quantitative data management, including data cleaning, coding, analysis, and summaries of findings.

This enabling role works to support innovative research with a goal of reducing the harms from alcohol and other drugs along the continuum from prevention through to treatment, to improve health outcomes for communities locally and globally.

About You

You are a proactive and detail-oriented research professional with a strong foundation in public health, health science or psychology, coupled with a passion for contributing to meaningful health research. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you bring excellent organisational skills, research rigour and a collaborative approach to supporting research projects from data collection through to reporting and communications.

To be successful in this position, you will also bring:


	Completion of degree in relevant area (e.g. psychology, public health or science) or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
	Demonstrated well-developed writing and communication skills, particularly related to assisting in scientific manuscript preparation, industry reports, grant writing, or research dissemination (e.g. via newsletters, websites, social media).
	Well-developed qualitative and quantitative research skills.
	Well-developed computer skills including Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) and Endnote.

Research topic

Mapping structure-properties relationships in xanthene- and pyronin dyes for design

Modern diagnostic methods are often based on tools allowing to visualize tissues, cells, and cellular structures, determine properties of microenvironments and similar with high spatial and temporal resolution, and they are based on interaction of various types of electromagnetic radiation with molecules. Fluorescent molecules are among the most often used visualization modalities. The research group Fluorescent Probes led by Dr. Peter Šebej aim to combine molecular design, organic synthesis, spectral methods, theoretical and data driven approaches to understand such small molecule fluorophores and bring rational rules of their design based on behaviour in both ground and excited states.

The candidate will perform synthesis and characterization of organic small molecular fluorophores and will study their properties with emphasis on their spectral and electronic properties. Following assessment of structure-properties relationship will be based on classical LFER approaches and data-driven, machine-learning and AI approaches. These relationships will be then turned into rules of dyes’ rational design and further tested using theoretical and laboratory approaches.

Highly motivated and skilful candidates will have the opportunity to considerably extend their graduate training in broader chemistry and related fields by learning advanced spectroscopic methods, photophysics, photochemistry, theoretical approaches, and will also take part in close international collaboration which is a key to this project.

About the role

The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to join its Department of Academic Research.

The primary focus of the fellowship is to provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to revise and prepare their doctoral thesis for publication by IIS, ensuring that the work makes a significant contribution to the Institute’s research priorities in Islamic and Ismaili studies. 	A PhD in Islamic Studies or a closely related discipline, with specialisation in Shiʿi Studies, South Asian Studies, Central Asian Studies, Qur'anic Studies and Tafsīr, Islamic Theology and Philosophy, Islamic Intellectual History, or another relevant field aligned with the Institute’s research priorities.
	Experience of producing high-quality, original academic research suitable for publication.
	Experience of teaching or supporting learning in higher education.
	The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
	A proactive approach, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement.
	Professionalism, discretion and diplomacy when working with colleagues and external partners.


A clear plan to develop the doctoral dissertation into a peer-reviewed monograph, working knowledge of Arabic and Persian, a record of scholarly publications, and experience of bibliographic, archival or collaborative research would be advantageous.
