The position is based in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Sydney is one of the most highly regarded School for social sciences in Australia, focusing on five research themes: health, markets, governance, inequality and environment. The occupant will make a significant contribution to the Discipline of Government and International Relations, which hosts a comprehensive range of teaching and research areas of political studies, including but not limited to: political science and political theory, Australian politics, comparative politics and area studies, environmental politics, media politics, public policy and public administration, and international relations and international security. Your key responsibilities will be to: teach into units within the Bachelor of Arts (Politics Major) undertake units within the university’s exciting new Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics (BPPE) program, which is taught across three disciplines and two Schools, and may include teaching at the postgraduate units conduct research in area of study, primarily Australian politics. Additional expertise in one or more of the following areas considered would be highly desirable: political theory environmental politics comparative politics engage in advanced pedagogical practice, design and evaluation, and contribute to educational and other leadership and governance priorities in SSPS. About you We are seeking a Lecturer in Australian Politics (Education Focused) who has: a PhD, in Australian politics or a cognate field demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level demonstrated leadership in educational innovation, curriculum design and review, relative to opportunity the ability to teach core and selective units of study in the Politics undergraduate major within the Bachelor of Arts, as well as units in the Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics (BPPE) program a high-quality research agenda in Australian politics and/or pedagogical practice, design and evaluation (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning). About the role Within the School of Veterinary Medicine, you will join the Section of Molecular Cellular Medicine within the Discipline of Comparative Biomedical Sciences.
