This role is designed to provide flexible administrative support across multiple College functions, allowing the officer to contribute where required and gain broad exposure to vocational education operations and stakeholder engagement. The position delivers high-quality administrative and office-based support across key areas such as Planning and Resources, Learning and Teaching Innovation and Quality, Partnerships, and education delivery. The VE Services Officer plays a key role in supporting both internal and external stakeholders, including students, apprentices, and employers, with a strong focus on student lifecycle processes and customer service excellence. This role requires an independent, hands-on, and motivated individual who can work autonomously while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Responsibilities include coordinating course and program activities, maintaining accurate information and records, supporting events, improving processes, and communicating effectively with stakeholders-primarily students and employers-via email and other channels. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in administrative or TAFE/student lifecycle environments will be highly regarded. To be successful in this position, you'll have / you'll have as a minimum: Highly developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in providing high quality customer service to internal and/or external High level oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Job Details This Research Fellow will contribute to the UrEco 2030+ project: “Optimizing Urban Ecosystem Services Model for Urban Climate and Biodiversity in Singapore towards 2030 and Beyond.” This position requires experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related fields, with added expertise in ecosystem services assessment, ecological engineering, social sciences, policy making, environmental science, and/or urban environmental issues at the policy–academic interface. This position is ideal for an early- or mid-career researcher with experience in GIS or remote sensing who seeks to apply and expand their expertise in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment. The successful candidate will work with leading researchers and contribute to cutting-edge research and policy dialogues at the intersection of blue–green infrastructure, tropical urban ecosystem services, and urban resilience (covering themes such as urban flooding, thermal cooling, recreation, and biodiversity). The work includes Local Climate Zone (LCZ) classification and collaboration with Japanese university partners for integrated macro- to micro-scale analysis. As part of understanding the ecosystem services that are involved in Singapore, the successful candidate will also be expected to perform some field-based data collection during the duration of the project. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Identify, simulate, and analyse ecosystem service models using GIS, remote sensing, and field data. Manage, process, and analyse ecological and socio-economic datasets to develop and calibrate high-accuracy ecosystem service models. Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings into conceptual frameworks and research designs. Support cross–work package integration, particularly in developing tools for blue–green infrastructure policy and decision-making. Perform quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and visualization. Draft and edit research reports, policy briefs, and academic manuscripts. Contribute to project management, workshop organization, and stakeholder or policy dialogues. Be involved in regular field work data collection and to perform environmental and biodiversity surveys (fish, birds and insects) as part of a research team. To communicate and liaise with any internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Job Requirements PhD in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Earth Science, or related disciplines. Strong working knowledge of GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data analysis techniques. Training or demonstrated experience in remote sensing, spatial data collection, and thematic mapping. Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, MATLAB, SPSS, Primer, Python). Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental Radio Propagation Studies

The Role Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental Radio Propagation Studies for both indoor and outdoor mobile environments for potential spectrum sharing and modelling of the impact of precipitation on mm wave fixed radio links from the high-end weather station installed at Durham University and measurement data. The successful candidate will be working in the Centre for Communication Systems led by Professor Salous who is the lead academic at Durham University for the EPSRC project Transmission Channels Measurements and Communication System Design for Future mmWave Communications (mmWave TRACCS), which is a collaborative project with Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and University College London (UCL). The project brings the complementary expertise of leading industry and UK research groups, to research, design and experimentally demonstrate systems working in typical deployment scenarios, in an integrative and holistic fashion. For such work, there are key challenges relating to the radio channel and system design. Challenge 1: to design wireless communication systems, it is paramount to have a verifiable model of the physical propagation channel by collecting measurement data from a specialist and bespoke designed equipment termed "channel sounder", which sends signals over the air and the receiver measures these signals after propagation. Such a model depends on several physical factors, but mainly the transmission signal parameters e.g. the frequency of transmission, the bandwidth of the signal, and the propagation channel physical parameters, such as whether the environment is indoors or outdoors, environmental factors, presence of obstacles, water moisture, and other factors. Professor Salous and her group at Durham have been building channel sounders for over thirty years and the models she has developed are considered amongst the best in the world, used by regulators, industry and the United Nations through the International Telecommunications Union, (ITU). In this project Professor Salous and the successful candidate will conduct measurements and develop unique models for future generation wireless systems using the new channel sounding. Challenge 2: Different method for spectrum sharing need to be identified for potential deployment in networks and in network planning tools and modelling of the impact of weather conditions on radio links. The successful applicant will be expected to Conduct wideband radio propagation measurements in typical indoor and outdoor environments and analyse the data using Matlab code to estimate the appropriate channel parameters in various wave bands for the design of radio systems. Collect the data and analyse it and relate it to weather data for prediction models. The results are to be generated in a suitable format for modelling in radio systems.
