Rudny Industrial Institute has contributed to the growth of the mining industry in Kazakhstan. Established in 1960 the Rudny Industrial Institute was founded with the purpose of training engineers and technicians specialised in the mining and metallurgy industries. The institute offers a diverse range of courses and programmes, including mining engineering, metallurgy, geology, social sciences, economics, business and art. The institute is equipped with labs and research facilities that enable students to gain practical experience working with various mining technologies. The student government gives students the opportunity to organise activities and actively participates in the management of the university.

As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Perform materials characterisation and microstructural analysis, including but not limited to: X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) X-ray Diffraction (XRD) Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDX) Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) Isothermal calorimetry Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) Evaluation of strength development and hydration behaviour Durability performance and long-term behaviour. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. The employee is to communicate with any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Any adhoc duties assigned. Job Requirements Master’s degree in Materials Science (Cement and Concrete), Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Demonstrated knowledge and competence in cementitious materials and concrete characterisation, especially for Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC³) and Carbonated Steel Slag Cement. Familiarity with cement chemistry and hydration mechanisms will be an advantage. Key Competencies Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Network Specialist (Cyber) will manage, configure and maintain campus network services, ensuring the security and availability of the network service. They will take a hands-on role in the support of the campus network service, administer data centre network services on campus and cloud hosted, and be involved in the future planning and development of services. The role will assist in ensuring that the security of the network is aligned with university policies and will proactively administer security infrastructure including the campus firewall. They will provide direct support and information to users of the network service. This role will report to the ICT Infrastructure Manager with day-to-day work activities set by the Senior AOI staff member within the networks group of the Infrastructure Team. Applicants should be aware that this is a role that supports critical infrastructure located on campus and as such, the successful applicant will be expected to work on campus to discharge their duties and on limited occasions it may also be necessary to work outside normal hours as is typical with roles involving critical infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical understanding and experience of networking for enterprise data centres, wired and Wi-Fi services and network security technologies with experience working in a physical campus environment. Research Fellow in Computational Glycobiology

We are seeking a computational glycobiologist to join a multidisciplinary project developing next-generation enzymatic tools for antibody glycoengineering. The role will focus on applying state-of-the-art structural modelling and computational protein design approaches to understand and engineer enzymes that modify IgG Fc N-linked glycans. The successful candidate will use tools such as AlphaFold, molecular modelling platforms, and glycan conformational analysis frameworks (e.g. GlycoShape) to investigate the structural dynamics of IgG glycans and their interactions with glycosyltransferases. Working closely with structural biologists and glycobiologists, they will analyse enzyme-substrate interfaces, model Fc-glycan accessibility, and support the design of engineered enzymes with enhanced activity toward IgG substrates. Computational insights will guide the design of chimeric glycosyltransferases that incorporate Fc-binding domains to achieve proximity-driven enhancement of glycan processing. This role is ideally suited to a researcher with experience in computational structural biology, glycobiology, or protein modelling, who is interested in applying AI-enabled structural prediction and glycan modelling tools to real-world challenges in antibody engineering. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of new technologies for precise control of antibody glycosylation, with applications in therapeutic antibody manufacturing and immune effector modulation. Description The Smart Materials Lab (Panče Naumov Group) at the Division of Science and Mathematics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a highly motivated post-doctoral candidate in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for materials science, with an emphasis on structure-property-relationships, materials optimization, materials under extreme conditions, and generative AI. Candidates must possess substantial experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, specifically in AI-driven materials discovery, machine learning applications for materials, or generative AI related to materials. The successful candidate will independently lead a project focused on developing generative AI models to establish structure-property relationships for materials discovery. This individual will be expected to collaborate closely with the project team and coordinate efforts with experimentalists from the Smart Materials Lab (SML) and the Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM) at NYUAD. The results of this work are anticipated to be published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at prominent conferences. We offer unique opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaborations, organization of scientific workshops, and attendance at conferences. Key qualifications include a PhD in a relevant field, expertise in AI/ML (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python), interest in materials applications, and a strong publication record. The position is for two years, with the possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement. The successful candidate is also expected to play an active role in other projects and activities within the Smart Materials Lab and assist in supervising undergraduate or PhD students.
