The role We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a veterinary degree and MRVCS for a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) Lecturer or Senior Lecturer post. The successful applicant will join a team of fellow professionals within the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine committed to providing excellence in teaching for the benefit of a new generation of vets. In the role you will: Use your skills to support theoretical and practical teaching, including in animal husbandry and veterinary sciences across years one and two of the programme, clinical teaching in years three and four and veterinary public health teaching in year five of the programme. This will involve support of off-site teaching including our spay and neuter clinic. Support written and practical assessment across all years of the programme and contribute to academic administrative duties. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project, funded by Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), where you will be part of the research team to develop a scalable and comprehensive framework for formal verification of quantum programs. The framework consists of the following deliverables: Intermediate Language. We plan to develop an intermediate language to model quantum programs. The intermediate language would be complete to describe all the desired characteristics of quantum computing while at the same time simple enough to be understood by most programmers. Formal Verification Framework. We plan to develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in the proposed intermediate language. Mechanization. We plan to mechanize the formal framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. Proof Automation. We plan to develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools. Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Have a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related areas. Possessing a Master degree will be advantageous. This is a four-month fixed-term appointment under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, offering an opportunity to help shape an innovative research direction with strong potential for follow-on funding. You will contribute to the development of the conceptual and analytical foundations of a liner shipping model, undertake preliminary analysis, and support the translation of the work into a coherent, competitive research proposal aligned with UKRI and broader international maritime research priorities. Key responsibilities include: (1) assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of the project, (2) manage research resources, and contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations at project meetings and relevant conferences. You should possess a good honours degree and a PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in Maritime transportation or Transportation Engineering relevant field. A solid background in liner shipping modelling and resilience modelling of maritime systems is essential. You must demonstrate your research capabilities and ability to disseminate findings through high-quality publications in international journals and referred conferences. Experience with research projects related to maritime shipping routes modelling, risk assessment, and management is preferred. You will work with a team of 11 postdoctoral/doctoral researchers in this ERC project on container transport risk, resilience, and sustainability analysis within the Liverpool Logistics Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM) at Liverpool John Moores University, UK.
