Rajarata University of Sri Lanka

Based at Mihintale, 10 miles outside Anuradhapura, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka is a public institution which became Sri Lanka’s 11th university in 1996. 
It was created by the amalgamation of a network of affiliated colleges formed in the 1970s and 1980s to bring higher education to districts previously under-served by it.
It opened with faculties of social science and humanities, management studies, agriculture and applied sciences, and subsequently added medicine and allied sciences in 2006 and technology in 2017. 
Management studies is now the largest faculty. Management, applied sciences and technology are located together with the administration on the main campus at Mihintale. The Centre for Distance and Continuing Education, serving 4,500 students, was opened in 2023.
Agriculture, which offers accommodation to all undergraduate students, operates at Puliyan Kumala while medicine and allied sciences are based at Saliyapura and are taught at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, the third largest in Sri Lanka serving a population of 1.6 million. 
Students, who are offered a range of courses in Sinhalese, Tamil and English, are accommodated in 22 hostels.

What we are looking for:

The  Vienna International School of Earth and Space Sciences (VISESS)  is soliciting applications for  VISESS Completion Grants  starting in summer semester 2026.

VISESS addresses societal challenges through inter- and trans-disciplinary academic research connecting the cosmos with planets and atmospheres including its environments and with the anthroposphere. We aim our students to become world-leading experts in either of these three branches while also confidently communicate and contribute across all three branches.

The VISESS Completion Grants aim to support VISESS doctoral students during the final phase of their doctoral studies to focus on the completion and submission of their thesis. VISESS doctoral students employed at the University of Vienna within the last six months before the start of the grant can apply for a three-month completion contract. Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration in the context of the successful completion of your thesis, which means:


	You finalise your dissertation according to your doctoral thesis agreement. We expect you to complete and submit your thesis at the end of the grant.
	You continue to participate in research, teaching, administration, (co-)supervision of students, examination activities, evaluation activities and in quality assurance as appropriate in the context of the successful completion of your thesis.


Requirements:


	You are enrolled in the doctoral programme of DSPL45 and a doctoral student member of VISESS who agreed to the Code of Good Practice.
	You have successfully passed your public presentation, submitted your dissertation agreement, and since then submitted your annual progress reports.
	You have shown active and regular participation in VISESS activities.
	You can provide a convincing statement that the completion and submission of your thesis can be expected at the end of the grant.
	You can provide a statement from your supervisory team on their commitment to support you in the final phase of your writing process.
	You have ensured that there is no other funding source available.

The University of Macau (UM) is an internationalized research-oriented comprehensive public university in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) located at the west bank of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The GBA is rapidly developing into one of the leading technology and innovation hubs of the world. With a scenic campus of approximately 1 km2 on Hengqin island, UM has achieved significant progress in the past decade as evidenced by its rising international repute, state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, and the establishment of three State Key Laboratories in microelectronics, Chinese medical sciences, and internet of things for smart city. The Department of Arts and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor in Visual Communication Design. According to the current plan, a Faculty of Design will be established at the new campus, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees programmes in Visual Communication Design.

Our newly established Visual Communication programme integrates design, technology, research, and is building a world-class team of designers, artists, and interdisciplinary scholars. The programme emphasizes: 1. Cutting-edge practices: motion design, 3D visualization, interactive media, immersive experience design, generative/AI design, and future-driven visual communication strategies; 2. Strong research orientation combined with practical, industry-relevant artistic creation; 3. Interdisciplinary exploration across art, design, technology, humanities, education, and emerging fields; 4. A global vision linking China and the world, and bridging tradition and the future. Qualifications

1. Doctoral degree in Visual Communication Design or related areas (or equivalent terminal degree with significant professional achievements); 2. A strong portfolio of design practice; 3. Demonstrated teaching experience at graduate or undergraduate level; 4. International exposure through study, work, exhibitions, or industry collaboration; 5. Proficiency in English; 6. Interdisciplinary or cross-cultural scholarship linking design with technology, humanities, or new media; 7. Expertise in one or more future-oriented areas is preferred: (i) Motion graphics and time-based media; (ii) 3D/CG visualization; (iii) XR/VR/AR; (iv) UI/UX and digital product design; (v) AI-assisted design; (vi) Creative coding/computational design; (vii) Data visualization and information systems; (viii) Immersive exhibition and spatial experience design; 8. Candidates with a commitment to building a young, ambitious programme and contributing to long-term strategic growth of the Faculty of Design will be especially valued.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Members of the Department study the transformation of governance, statehood and democracy across different policy areas, geographical regions and political areas.

You will join the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Solidarity (CeSCoS), led by Professor Barbara Prainsack. This research group investigates how solidarity shapes social justice, institutional design, and policy interventions across a range of domains, using rigorous qualitative and theoretically grounded approaches. The Centre brings together pre- and post-doctoral researchers and fellows from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. You would be welcome to bring and pursue your own research interests within the team.

Your future tasks:

Participation in research, teaching and administration in the field of comparative policy analysis and qualitative methods as well as in the research group CeSCoS (Centre for the Study of Contemporary Solidarity, led by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Barbara Prainsack).

This involves, in particular, the participation in the organisation of events, seminars, and other formats of academic collaboration and exchange:
