The appointments will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) (tenure-track) in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The anticipated start date is 1 July 2026, or a mutually agreed-upon date. Qualifications and requirements Applicants must hold a DVM (or equivalent) or a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. The successful candidates will contribute to laboratory-based and didactic teaching in veterinary anatomy and may contribute to other teaching activities in the DVM programme as required. Experience teaching large undergraduate cohorts in a laboratory setting is expected, and candidates should provide evidence of effectiveness in this context. Expertise in the comparative anatomy of common domestic species is required. UCVM's anatomy instruction is supported by a team of technicians and a fully equipped laboratory capable of producing teaching specimens using a variety of preservation techniques including large format plastination Experience in course leadership, development and management is an asset, and experience in supervising technical staff activities and creating teaching specimens is highly desirable. Appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching) (tenure-track) requires evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness or competency in teaching and learning, an awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning. Engagement in the research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy is required. UCVM employs a Distributed Veterinary Teaching Hospital model. Clinical practice opportunities may be possible for qualified DVM candidates.
