The Department's main responsibilities lie within the international area of teaching and research in the field of Education. The subject area of inquiry include the education and training processes in specially created social institutions (such as schools), as well as the educational and socialization processes in non-educational institutionalized fields of social life (peer groups, milieus, media, etc.). The Department of Education is part of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education. The research area "Foundations of Education" aims at investigating, by means of an international approach, educational systems of thought that emerge in the respective historical, cultural and national contexts and often spread across their own national borders in the course of time. The newly established Faculty of Science at the University of Macau (UM) invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Computational and AI Biology. This recruitment supports the launch of the new Department of Biological Sciences, part of UM’s strategic initiative to strengthen its foundation in fundamental and applied sciences. As part of UM’s broader academic development plan, the university is undertaking a major structural expansion by restructuring and establishing five faculties in science and technology. Among them, the Faculty of Science will be formed based on relevant program of the current Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS). The new Faculty will include the Department of Biological Sciences, Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics, and Department of Mathematics.
