QOM University of Medical Sciences is located in Qom, Iran and was established in 2004, but has been functioning since 1996 under the name of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Services. The university has seven faculties including medicine, dentistry, Iranian medicine, paramedicine, nursing and midwifery, health, and health and religion and nine affiliated hospitals. The university offers scientific seminars and healthcare services. Students will gain practical experience through apprenticeships and internships in various fields at the university.

Such active & authentic learning opportunities ensures graduates step into their careers with applicable skills and competence. In research, SIT faculty aims to bridge knowledge creation and utilisation. Our faculty collaborates closely with industry on translational research and innovation with focus on addressing pertinent industry challenges to impact businesses. The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Scheme is co-funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and SIT to encourage and support outstanding young Singaporeans interested in pursuing an academic career at SIT. The Overseas PhD Scholarship aims to attract and encourage outstanding graduates and industry professionals to pursue an academic career at SIT by providing financial support for an overseas PhD, as well as academic guidance and mentorship. The scholarship may be awarded to applicants who have just completed their undergraduate studies; or have completed a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s programme and/or have worked for some years; or are currently enrolled in a PhD programme overseas Upon successful completion of the PhD programme, the scholar will be considered to join SIT’s faculty as an Assistant Professor. Eligibility and Selection Criteria Singapore citizen Second upper-class honours degree, or equivalent, relevant to the supported fields of study listed below Three years of working experience in the industry preferred (For Health Sciences, at least five years of relevant experience preferred) Strong passion for teaching and research Value of Scholarship The scholarship provides: Full tuition and compulsory fees Monthly stipend Overseas maintenance allowance Return economy airfares Conference and fieldwork grants Overseas medical insurance Scholars will also each be assigned a faculty mentor throughout their course of study and have opportunities to participate in faculty development programmes. The scholarship is tenable for a period of five years. Service Commitment 5 years in SIT after completion of PhD studies. Mid-term awardees will have a service commitment of 1 year for every year of sponsorship. Application Process Applications are open throughout the year. Applications received before 15 January 2026 will be considered for the 2026 intake. Interview by the respective clusters for shortlisted applicants will be conducted throughout the year. Final Interview by the Panel for shortlisted applicants for the 2026 intake will commence in Mid-March to End April 2026. Awards will be finalised by July 2026.

IaaS Centre of Digital Innovation focusses on assisting company’s to digitalize their operations or prod/ucts and implementing AI solutions using ready AI tools to ensure a fast implementation to market. Key Responsibilities Work closely with centre head, Principal Investigator (PI) and internal/external stakeholders (including other IHLs) to support or drive applied research, and innovation initiatives outcomes. Outcomes include impact or revenue of industry partners Understand industry partners requirements and help create proposals to them. Work with the team to create IP (Intellectual Property) from internal grants to target multiple adopters Job Requirements: A good Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) research or application. Deep technical specialist with 8 or more years of working experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role, with good knowledge of industry practices and technological applications in the field for the senior positions. 1 - 3 years experience will suffice for research engineers. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The researcher will be part of the team of the MCCS NATURE Project (https://www.nparks.gov.sg/Cuge/Programmes-Schemes/Research%20Programmes/MCCS%20Programme). The primary role involves developing and validating CFD models to study wave attenuation by mangroves, seagrass, and coral. Responsibilities include calibrating simulations with experimental data, analyzing shear coefficients and drag forces, and contributing to interdisciplinary research on coastal protection, with an emphasis on delivering accurate and impactful modeling insights. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: 1. Wave Stochastic Analysis and Hydrodynamics Conduct advanced stochastic analysis of wave environments to evaluate the performance of floating structures.  Analyze hydrodynamic behavior of floating breakwaters under varied sea conditions. 2. CFD and Finite Element Modeling Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize the design and performance of floating breakwaters. Develop finite element models for stability assessment, structural integrity, and dynamic response of floating systems. 3. Connector Design Design and analyze mechanical connectors for the integration of multi-purpose floating breakwater systems, ensuring structural stability and durability. 4. Design and Integration Develop innovative designs for floating breakwaters that integrate wave energy converters (WECs), tidal energy systems, and solar energy platforms. Optimize design configurations to maximize energy harnessing and wave attenuation. 5. Experimental Testing Plan and conduct physical model tests in wave flumes or basins to validate computational models. Analyze experimental data to improve and validate the floating breakwater design. 6. Research Documentation and Dissemination: Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations to disseminate findings to academic and industry stakeholders. Contribute to project proposals and progress updates for funding agencies. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. 7. Project Management Support: Ensure timely execution of project milestones Coordinate with external collaborators and manage data-sharing protocols. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements PhD/Master’s in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in hydrodynamic modeling tools (e.g., ANSYS AQWA, OrcaFlex) and finite element analysis software (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS). Experience with stability and mooring system design. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with data collection instruments and techniques. Excellent communication and report-writing abilities. Good understanding of industry standard will be an advantage Ability to work independently and in teams in both lab and field environments.
