Responsibilities include the delivery of academic administration, student support and ensuring high levels of customer service and student satisfaction. You will be instrumental in ensuring that the student experience of administrative services on your portfolio of courses and programmes is effective, consistent and of a high standard. You will work very closely with academic staff (e.g. Course Directors and Module Leaders), as well as other professional service units. If appointed at Shrivenham you will lead on allocating space as part of our timetabling processes. About You We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated administrator, with a passion for high quality customer service. You will be IT literate, including Microsoft packages and database applications. Ideally, you will have experience of academic administration, preferably within a Higher Education Institution, and of working with regulations. You will have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills are a must. Job Purpose:  The Research Engineer will support applied research and innovation in sustainability focusing on, but not limited to, the Built Environment sector, working with internal teams and industry partners to develop practical solutions. The role focuses on translating scientific concepts into scalable solutions that address challenges in mitigating the impact of climate change and meeting environmental sustainability target through resource efficiency, energy management, renewable energy, waste management, and other sustainable solutions for various industries. Research engineers will collaborate closely with faculty, professional officers and industry partners to execute commercially viable solutions that address real-world challenges. In the process, research engineers gain valuable applied research capabilities aligned with evolving industry needs. Key Responsibilities: Applied Research & Development Perform sustainability assessment and analysis for organizational green transition. Develop of sustainability solutions and training roadmap development for organizational green transition, focusing on but not limited to the Built Environment sector. Develop and execute of sustainability projects by conducting experiments, data collection, and analysis for Proof of Concept (POC) and implementation for organisations in, but not limited to, the built environment sector at neighbourhood-scale and building-scale, such as microclimate study, building energy and resource-use efficiency, sustainability strategies and technologies. Industry Collaboration Support collaborations with industry partners to understand problem statements and contribute to solution development Assist in project scoping by gathering technical inputs and identifying relevant capabilities within the ecosystem (IHLs, research centres, industry partners) Participate in industry meetings, discussions, and project engagements Project Execution & Support Assist in planning and executing projects to ensure timely delivery of outcomes Generate technical reports, presentations, and documentation on the development of sustainability solutions and applications Contribute to grant proposals and project submissions where required Track project progress and maintain proper documentation of activities Job Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree with 5+ year experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ year experience in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services. Strong knowledge and experience in building passive strategies, ACMV systems and control. Hands on experience on experimental studies, including urban microclimate and thermal comfort study, is highly advantageous. Possess understanding of sustainability concepts (e.g., LCA, carbon foot printing, resource efficiency). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Key competencies:  Possess understanding of sustainability challenges faced by industries locally and globally. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with industry partners and stakeholders. Lecturer (Fashion Business) The School of Fashion resides in the Faculty of Design and offers a Diploma in Creative Direction for Fashion programme and two distinct fashion degree programmes in BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles and BA (Hons) Fashion Media and Industries. The School is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking fashion lecturer to teach at the intersection of design, business strategy and creative direction in fashion. The ideal candidate will bring substantial industry experience within the fashion system, alongside a strong pedagogical approach that integrates critical thinking, creative practice and commercial awareness. This role requires an educator who understands fashion not only as a creative discipline, but as a cultural and economic system, and who can guide students in navigating the full life cycle of fashion, from concept and design to product development, branding and market positioning. The successful candidate should demonstrate expertise and the ability to teach across a combination of the following areas: Design and creative practice: Visual identity, branding and art direction. Creative business integration: Design-led innovation, business thinking, and translating concepts to market across brand, product and experience. Fashion business strategy and management: Brand development, fashion marketing, communication and digital platforms, fashion management and product development, entrepreneurship and start-up models, supply chain and production systems, as well as sustainability and ethical business models. As lecturer, your key responsibilities include academic preparation, teaching and the delivery of specialised knowledge and skills, as well as cognitive-based content, to ensure students’ learning objectives are met. You will work collaboratively with teams within/across programmes and the Faculty to enhance the strategic and organisational plans and ensure that the programme achieves its strategic ambitions and objectives. Other responsibilities include coordinating academic learning activities, academic administration and organisation, providing feedback on assignments, conducting assessments and marking, and student mentoring and recruitment. You will also contribute to the academic development of the programme, work as part of a team, and be involved in specific programme activities, projects, exhibitions and other cross-faculty initiatives. Requirements: Postgraduate qualification, preferably at PhD level, or equivalent in a relevant discipline. At least five years of tertiary-level teaching experience with knowledge of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Framework and at least three years of full-time relevant professional practice. For Senior Lecturer, at least nine years and above or the equivalent of postgraduate teaching experience in practice-based arts at tertiary level and six years of proven track record of professional experience in related design fields and/or tertiary design education with a PhD qualification. Substantive professional practice in the areas of visual identity, branding, and art direction, creative direction as strategic practice, translating concept to market: brand, product, and experience, fashion marketing, communication and/or related fields of design. Fluency in English and the Chinese language (written and spoken). A passion for teaching with the ability to nurture and encourage excellence in teaching and student learning. Possess excellent communication, organisational and team working skills and academic administrative skills. A positive attitude to research, and preferably a personal research profile.
