We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on the ‘Data Stories: Telling Stories About and With Planning and Property Data’ project funded through an ERC Advanced Investigator award to Professor Rob Kitchin. The postdoctoral researcher will undertake a comprehensive data audit of the data terrain of housing, property and planning in Northern Ireland, conduct interviews with key stakeholders with respect to selected aspects of this terrain, and compare the findings to a data audit and interviews already undertaken in the Republic of Ireland. For selected topics, such as the planning and development pipeline, a data audit and comparison will be undertaken with respect two additional countries. The successful candidate will have experience of sourcing and handling administrative datasets, be able to compile a data directory, compare datasets and evaluate data quality, and be able to conduct interviews and analyse the transcripts. They will have domain knowledge relating to Human Geography, Urban Studies, Planning, GIScience, Critical Data Studies, or related disciplines. The posts will be for 12 months, with an anticipated commencement of 1st July 2026. Salary Post-Doctoral Researcher (2026): €46,805 - €53,391 p.a.(6 points) Or Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher (2026): €54,851 - €59,655 p.a. About the Job: The College of Science, Mathematics and Technology is seeking highly motivated individuals to join the biology department at WKU. All faculty positions are full-time assignments, effective for the start of the 2026 Fall semester (August 16). These positions are full-time assignments appointed on a 3-year contract at the first instance and are renewable upon successful reappointment review. Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor is a full-time, 10-month employee who teaches 24 credits per academic year. Tenure-track faculty normally teach 2 different courses with each section consisting typically of 22-28 students. Faculty is required to conduct research, provide high quality teaching and provide service to the university and/or professional community. Six credits of teaching release time will be provided to new faculty each year for the first three consecutive years of the appointment to support external research grant development and other significant research endeavors. Thereafter, release time may be available by application on competitive basis. The university will provide start-up grants (up to 300,000 RMB) supporting their research programs. After joining WKU, faculty will apply to external grants at the municipal, provincial, and national levels. Faculty members successfully obtaining eligible external grants will be afforded release time ranging from 3-12 credits per year. Bioinformatics expertise and/or experience in the biomedical field is desirable in support of the two platforms: Zhejiang Province Bioinformatics International Science and Technology Collaboration Center and the Key Lab of Applied Biomedical Informatics of Wenzhou City, which is hosted and housed at WKU. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, and weekend, depending on institutional needs. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable.
