Poltava V.G Korolenko National Pedagogical University is one of Ukraine’s oldest universities with its roots dating back to 1914 with the Poltava Teachers Institute and 1918 with the Historical Philological Department of Kharkiv University in Poltava. In 1921, the Institute and Department merged to form the Higher Institute of Community Education, and in 1949 the university gained the name of Russian writer Vladamir Galaktionovich Korolenko. In 2009, the university received national status. Today, the university has seven schools and 36 departments offering degree programmes in a variety of subject areas such as history, natural sciences, physics and mathematics, philology and journalism, technology and design, psychology, and physical education. Across these various areas, programmes are offered at a bachelor, specialist and master’s level. Graduate and postgraduate students have 10 fields of study on offer from general education to economic theory and history of economic thought. There are courses in thermal and molecular physics, Russian literature, and Ukranian. For those who have completed postgraduate master’s and are looking to continue their studies, the university offers eight doctoral specialisms including general education and educational history, Ukrainian history, and world literature. Across the university there are a range of educational and recreational facilities for students to access including a sports complex, botanical gardens, production workshops, a healthcare centre and the university library which houses over 578,000 volumes making it the largest book collection in Poltava Oblast. The university also has a Museum of Natural History and an Archaeological Museum where students can find the longest towel made of homespun cloth made by students in 2012. The university has international partnerships with educational institutions and international organisations across the world. Students can choose to participate in academic exchanges, seminars and workshops.

The Department seeks a candidate whose scholarship and teaching will strengthen its research, graduate teaching, and programme development in an area of strategic growth. We are particularly interested in applicants whose expertise lies at the intersection of instructional design, adult learning, professional education, and the pedagogically sound use of artificial intelligence to support learning design, facilitation, feedback, and learner support. Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Immuno-oncology

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious scientist to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary research team focused on developing new treatment strategies for lung cancer patients. HaikaLab Immuno-oncology Research Group (www.haikalab.com) at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki, is seeking a curiosity-driven computational immunologist, computational biologist, or cancer immunologist with strong data analytical skills to study tumor-immune interactions and therapy resistance mechanisms in lung cancer. Our research focuses on understanding how the tumor microenvironment shapes immunotherapy responses using state-of-the-art technologies, including single-cell sequencing, spatial profiling, and advanced patient-derived ex vivo models. We are particularly interested in identifying novel therapeutic vulnerabilities and predictive biomarkers for immunotherapy responses in lung cancer. The candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative translational research environment operating across both the University of Helsinki and Tampere University. The Principal Investigator of the laboratory is Assistant Professor Heidi Haikala, who completed her postdoctoral training at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School before returning to Finland to establish her own research group. We are particularly interested in candidates with either: Strong computational and bioinformatics expertise combined with interest in immunology and cancer biology, or Deep expertise in immunology or cancer immunology together with computational and data analytical skills This position is ideal for someone excited about working at the interface of immunology, cancer biology, data science, and translational medicine. The position also offers substantial opportunity to shape emerging computational and translational research directions within a rapidly growing immuno-oncology research program.
