Description The Mubadala Arabian Center for Climate and Environmental Sciences (Mubadala ACCESS) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Junior Research Scientist to support a multidisciplinary research program investigating the environmental and ecological drivers of productive fishing grounds in the United Arab Emirates. Working alongside researchers from NYUAD and Emirates Nature–WWF, the successful candidate will contribute to marine habitat mapping, spatial analysis, and environmental data integration to support fisheries management and marine conservation. The Junior Research Scientist will support the acquisition, processing, and analysis of marine spatial and environmental datasets collected throughout the project. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will assist in developing habitat maps, managing spatial databases, integrating environmental monitoring data, and producing analytical outputs that inform conservation planning and fisheries management. The role combines office-based spatial analysis with opportunities to participate in field surveys, environmental monitoring, and marine habitat assessments across the UAE. The successful candidate will assist with processing GIS, bathymetric, habitat, and environmental datasets, maintaining project databases, and supporting the development of habitat maps and spatial products. Responsibilities include assisting with side-scan sonar and underwater imagery processing, data quality assurance, statistical analyses, and preparation of maps, figures, reports, and scientific publications. The Junior Research Scientist will also participate in field campaigns to collect environmental and spatial reference data and contribute to project reporting and stakeholder deliverables. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Science, Geography, GIS, Oceanography, Environmental Science, Spatial Ecology, or a closely related discipline. Master’s degree and less than 5 years of research experience in the relevant field, or a Bachelor's degree with any level of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS, managing scientific datasets, and conducting quantitative analyses using software such as R or Python. Experience with marine habitat mapping, environmental monitoring data, side-scan sonar, or remote sensing is desirable. Candidates should possess strong analytical and organizational skills and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant/Associate/Senior Professor with excellent research, teaching, and supervision qualifications who will contribute to the department’s research profile. Description Jaime Napier’s Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct globally-conscious research on gender-related attitudes, gender stereotypes, and/or attitudes and beliefs about sexual orientation. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. Research in our lab focuses on the social and psychological antecedents and consequences of inequality, broadly defined. The ideal candidate for the current position will have a strong background in research on gender and sexual orientation. Some potential projects include: (1) understanding backlash against gender equality and queer rights; (2) understanding the content and structure of gender stereotypes and their consequences; and (3) examining patterns of gender-related attitudes over time and cross-nationally. The position entails involvement in all stages of research, including (but not limited to) study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation. Candidates must hold a PhD in social psychology or a closely related field, with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD, be competent in research design and advanced statistical analyses, and have strong writing and communication skills.
