About Petroleum Higher School
Basic information and contact details for Petroleum Higher School
Petroleum Higher School is a multidisciplinary technical higher education institution in the south-east of Tatarstan that trains specialists for the oil and gas industry. Its origins stretch back to the 1950s.
Almetyevsk is the petroleum capital of Tatarstan, so the campus is surrounded by oilfields. Being woven into the fabric of the region provides a synergy that means the institution is closely connected to the industry via its key partners (which include Tatneft, one of Russia’s largest oil companies) and that its courses are aligned with industry demands. Petroleum Higher School has introduced several master’s programmes tailored to the needs of large regional employers.
International students make up more than 10 per cent of the enrolment at Petroleum Higher School, which has several international cooperation agreements.
